Tyson Fury flew to Iceland to confront Thor Bjornsson about an exhibition fight, but the strongman wasn't even in the country.

Heavyweight champion Fury was trying to set up a fight against Bjornsson last summer just months after retiring from boxing. In new footage from Fury's documentary 'At Home with the Furys', he can be seen taking a spontaneous trip to Reykjavik along with his dad John and manager in a bid to make the fight happen.

"I am going with my dad and Spencer to Iceland to call out big Thor for a fight, just an exhibition like a big show," Fury told his wife Paris. "He's been calling me out and I've been calling him out, I'm going over there to pick a fight." Fury then admitted to not even speaking with Bjornsson before flying out, as he planned to "wing it" and confront the strongman after touching down.

Walking off his EasyJet flight, a riled up Fury said: "Right, where is he? I'm looking for him already. Has anybody seen a 6'9" viking wearing a pink tutu? He goes by the name of Thor and he's about to have a broken jaw, that even rhymes. I'm going to break Thor's jaw in a minute, that even rhymes. You know where we are, Iceland. We're looking for Thor, come out and fight like a man."

Fury's manager then phones Bjornsson's boxing coach Billy Nelson, who reveals the devastating news by saying: "He's in Rome, filming some advert." A devastated Fury then reacted to Bjornsson's absence by replying: "Oh he's in Rome, f*** him then. Not very good after a three hour plane journey, this is what happens when you do spontaneous things."

John said of the fiasco: "What a complete and upper f*** up. I never asked any questions because I thought we weren't going to go to Iceland for nothing. Deep down inside Tyson was disappointed, someone like him when you go to do something and it doesn't get done, it bothers him."

The trio opted to do some sightseeing in Reykjavik after the disaster, with Fury even buying a horned hat and declaring himself the "new viking around these ends". After going for some food and getting a few beers in, they cut their trip short and got an early flight home. Two months after the exhibition fight fell through, Bjornsson announced his retirement from boxing.
