Joe Swash has opened up about being 'dad shamed' when he travels with his young children.

The ex-EastEnders star, 41, and his wife Stacey Solomon, 33, have six kids between them. They share Rex, 4, Rose, one, and six-month-old baby Belle. From their previous relationships, Stacey has two sons, Zachary, 15, Leighton, 11, and Joe has a son, Harry, 16.

And he admits that whenever the family jet off on holiday, other plane passengers give him dirty looks as they have concerns that the children will be disruptive or scream throughout the flight.

"There are times when we get on a plane - all five of us - and people give us dirty looks because of the kids," he explained. "You know, I'm like on the plane with five kids, and it happens quite a lot that people look angry about it."

He added to The Sun : "I'm always like 'Come on, mate, I'm the one with the five kids and I don't want these kids to be crying either'. Anyone who has kids has been in that situation though."

It's just another example of the negativity aimed at Joe and Stacey when they enjoy a family holiday. Recently Joe spoke to the Mirror about the unkind comments left by trolls who are angry that he and his brood enjoy luxurious five-star sunshine breaks amid the UK's crippling cost of living crisis.

This summer the couple splashed out on a luxurious family holiday to Turkey as they spent quality time at the Regnum Carya, which has also hosted A-list stars including Jennifer Lopez, who performed at the resort in 2019, and was the choice of world leaders when it hosted the prestigious G-20 summit in 2015.

Some of her 5.7 million followers were quick to criticise the holiday, which reportedly cost in the region of £47,000, calling it “tone deaf” and "not living in the real world anymore." One commented: "Sorry Stacy but an average family could not afford this hotel you are very lucky to be able to afford this."

She later revealed she had received a discount thanks to advertising a travel agent, but she had already angered her followers. “Oh God Stacey, what exactly is the number of holidays that you have had this year?! It’s all getting rather sickening now,” one fumed.

“How relatable a 47k holiday,” another sarcastically added. “I’m not bothered about your money and your discounts what horrifies me is you have blatantly rubbed peoples noses in your advertising to get discounts while other unfortunate families can’t afford a local holiday. What has happened to you Stacey is it all about the money?”,

Joe said : "We're in the public eye so you've got to take the rough with the smooth and not everyone is going to agree with us. We work really hard and we try to take our kids on holiday. We only work hard so we can spend more time and do more things with our family. People are going to have a go but it's fine they're allowed their opinion and we take it with a pinch of salt."
