Location, Location, Location star Phil Spencer and his family are planning on going to the same pub his parents were driving to before they died in order to honour them.

The TV star's mother Anne, 82, and father Richard, 89, died late last month when their car careered into a river. They were on their way to the pub for lunch when their car veered off the access road into a shallow tributary river running through their estate in Littlebourne, near Canterbury, Kent.

Richard and Anne, who were married for almost 60 years, were pulled from the car and taken to the hospital. Sadly Richard was pronounced dead and Anne died later. And now, almost two weeks later, Phil's co-presenter Kirstie Allsop provided fans with an update on him.

Speaking on BBC's Newscast podcast on Saturday, Kirstie said: "(Phil’s) got a lovely, lovely family and they’re very, very close and they’re all together. In fact, his sister was married yesterday, which they went ahead with and today they’re all going to the pub for lunch.

"The same pub that his parents were on the way to when they died. He’s very stoical and pragmatic, and he feels very strongly that it was the right thing that his parents went together.” Following his parents' tragic death, Phil took to social media to pay tribute to them.

"As a family, we are all trying to hold onto the fact Mum and Dad went together and that neither will ever have to mourn the loss of the other one. Which is a blessing in itself," he explained on Instagram. " Although they were both on extremely good form in the days before (hence the sudden idea to go out to lunch), Mum's Parkinson's and Dad's Dementia had been worsening and the long-term future was set to be a challenge."

Speaking about the prediction his mum had about their deaths, Phil added: "So much so that Mum said to me only a week ago that she had resigned to thinking 'now it looks like we will probably go together'. And so they did. That was what God had planned for them - and it was a good plan."

Phil's co-star and friend Kirstie also said it came as a comfort to the presenter that his parents were together when they died. The property presenter was with his siblings David, Caryn and Helen last night following the tragedy and have been comforting each other since.
