Some Liam Gallagher fans are looking back in anger after forking out £52 for a CD or vinyl signed by the frontman.

They fear Liam, who sang on Oasis hit albums such as Definitely Maybe and Be Here Now, may not have autographed their merch. One Beady Eyed fan who bought three live recordings of Liam’s 2022 Knebworth concerts reckons two signatures are suspect.

He highlighted the no dots over the ‘i’ and longer pen strokes for certain letters. He suspected Liam signed many but then handed over the task to a helper.

Some Might Say the row is similar to one Rita Ora fans had last month, when many voiced concerns over the authenticity of the signature on the star’s latest release.

Online forums went into meltdown as one Liam fan wrote: “The Liams with dots over the i’s seem to be secretarial.” Another said: “Some are definitely not real.” But a third claimed: “The one thing that is consistent about Liam’s signature over the years is that it can be inconsistent.” Many stars now offer signed versions to boost sales. Liam’s were on an online independent record store.

A buyer shared an email from the site which offered a full refund, adding: “We’ve spoken to people at Liam’s label who arranged these prints.”

Liam’s agent and record company did not respond when contacted for comment. The store was also contacted.
