Liam Gallagher addresses Oasis reunion rumour as he's spotted hitting the studio
Liam Gallagher has opened up about the possibility of Oasis reforming after icy relations between him and his brother Noel have reportedly begun to thaw.
There has also been growing hopes that the famously argumentative brothers would hit the road or release new music as Oasis reaches a landmark year with the 30th anniversary of their debut album.
And hopes were raised further when 50-year-old Liam was spotted entering a recording studio - but there was no sign of 55-year-old Noel at the same venue.
Now sources have revealed what Liam has been up to in the studio - and hinted that the singer and his brother might not say no to making new tunes together.
A music insider told the Sun on Sunday: “Even though Liam is on better terms with Noel, he is still focused on his solo material and has another record in him before he can think about an Oasis reunion.
Liam Gallagher says he's undergone major operation amid Oasis reunion rumours“He’s been in a great headspace and the creative juices are flowing. He can’t wait to get back in the studio again.”
Liam himself also recently opened up about his focus in the recording studio.
The singer - who has released three number one solo albums of his own - gushed about working with his favourite music producers, declaring: “It’s easy, man. I thought it’d be a lot harder. We just get in and do what we’ve got to do.
“We don’t mess about. I’d love to be able to write a whole album but that’s just not the way it is.”
Noel had quashed hopes for a reunion to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their debut album Definitely Maybe.
However, he did promise a special re-release of the iconic album which will feature a host of previously lost songs from the recording sessions - including acoustic versions of Live Forever, Slide Away and Supersonic.
He said: “In the Sony archives we’ve found tapes dating to those sessions. We thought they were lost, but they were mislabelled. They are wonderful versions of those songs, some acoustic versions.”
But he added: “There won’t be a tour, we won’t come back to play them together.”
The elder Gallagher brother has released three chart topping albums away from Oasis with his Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds band.
The last of those was released back in 2017 - while his most recent single with the group was released this year, with a fourth album, titled Council Skies, due for release in June.
