Jonnie Irwin enjoyed a very special night out on Friday as he was honoured at an awards ceremony amid his terminal cancer diagnosis.

The former A Place In The Sun presenter, 49, shared last year how he is unsure how long he has left to live, after being diagnosed with lung cancer in August 2020, which has since spread to his brain.

In recent months, Jonnie has shared his journey on social media as he continues to spend quality time with his beloved family, his sons, Rex, 4, and two-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac, and his wife Jessica Holmes.

Despite his cancer diagnosis, Jonnie has still been working hard on projects, and on Friday night, he attended the First Time Buyer Magazine Awards, where he made an appearance alongside his former Escape to the Country colleague Nicki Chapman.

Making his red carpet debut, Jonnie looked as dapper as ever as he donned a white shirt a black suit jacket. Jonnie paired the sharp jacket with a pair of beige trousers.

Speaking of the special night, Jonnie said: "Congratulations to all the winners at the @firsttimebuyermag Awards yesterday there was some very impressive winners and runners up."

"We also raised an incredible amount of money for our nominated charity @stoswaldsuk with a couple of super generous individual bids- you know who you are and thankyou so much," Jonnie added.

Shortly after, Nicki commented on Jonnie's post as she gushed over their reunion. "We all know how tough that can be –-especially at the moment. Lovely to catch up Jonnie – big hugs to all the fam too."

Jonnie decided to go public with the tragic news of his terminal diagnosis last year in order to get the 'monkey off my back'. The Escape To The Country star was shooting a TV project in Italy when he first realised something might be wrong with his health.

In August 2020 Jonnie had an episode of blurry vision whilst he was driving - with subsequent tests confirming the dad-of-three had developed lung cancer, which had spread to his brain.

Alongside going public with his diagnosis in November, Jonnie also encouraged others to take out life insurance. "That has helped so much and when I leave this planet, I’ll do so knowing Jess and the boys are in a house that is fully paid off and there’s a bit of money in the bank for them to live off," Jonnie admitted in the first interview about his condition last year.
