The Inbetweeners star looks worlds away from E4 comedy character at showbiz bash
Actor Blake Harrison looks worlds away from one of his most famous portrayals as he attended a London red carpet event.
The actor played Neil Sutherland in E4 sitcom The Inbetweeners from 2008 until 2011 and then in a further two films released in 2011 and 2014. Blake, 38, has gone on to star in other TV dramas including BBC's World On Fire and A Very English Scandal and Sky hit series I Hate Suzie, but he's still best known for his comedy antics as hapless Neil in the schoolboy series.
Millions of viewers were left in fits of giggles and gasping with disgust in equal measure at the lads’ awkward antics, with the show remaining a cult classic and still holding a fond place in the hearts of its loyal fanbase.
Yet Blake couldn't have looked more different whilst attending EE’s launch event for Power Up at The Marylebone Hotel in London. Dressed in a white T-shirt with a black jacket and black trousers to match, Blake beamed at the red carpet event. Blake joined other famous faces including Love Island stars Andrew Le Page and his girlfriend Tasha Ghouri as well as Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.
The star recently opened up in a podcast she he revealed that he has some reservations about his two children - whom he shares with Kerry Ann Lynch - following in his footsteps and going into acting. He explained: "The times when you're not working are when you can really struggle. When people don’t see you [for roles] is when your mental health can deteriorate.
Emily Atack reunites with Inbetweeners co-star as they mull over rom com sequel"It’s in moments where you've had 10 auditions and none of them have gone your way. No one gives you any reason why. That can be difficult at times, especially when you’re like me and have spent your entire life wanting to do this. You just sort of hit a brick wall for a while and don't know how to knock through it - that’s the toughest moment."
Earlier this year Blake Harrison, alongside his The Inbetweeners co-stars, celebrated 15 years since the series first aired. Blake reminisced on his time with fellow cast members Simon Bird, Joe Thomas and James Buckley for series of snaps which he shared on Instagram.
Sharing the snap with his 116,000 followers, Blake wrote: "A little show I did is 15 years old today. First episode aired May 1st 2008. Sorry for making you feel old!!" The Inbetweeners first aired in E4 in 2008 and went on to win 12 comedy awards across the years. The hit comedy series Inbetweeners is based on the real lives of the creators, Damon Beesley and Iain Morris.
