This Morning thrown into chaos as Andi Peters walks off set after make-up mishap
This Morning's Andi Peters was seen storming off the set after bosses stated he needed to wear more make-up.
The broadcaster was fronting the programme alongside former singer Rochelle Humes on Friday as they were joined by the likes of Gyles Brandreth and television chef Rustie Lee. But things became a bit awkward for Andi when he attempted to present the competition link.
As he and Rochelle informed viewers what they could win, he explained that bosses had spoken to him via his in-ear monitor and said his forehead was too shiny and required a small touch-up. The presenter struggled to contain his laughter as he said: "Oh dear, no, I can't," as Rochelle also burst into fits of laughter while resting on Andi.
While pointing at his ear, he said: "Literally, they're like 'Can we get make-up? Andi's head is shining!', OK, my head's shining. I'm going to go and get my head de-shined, I'll leave this to you," he said to Rochelle. Andi later stormed off the set in order to quickly visit the make-up department.
Forced to go solo, the former The Saturdays star commented: "It was an epidemic in the gallery," before she launched into the competition link. Upon his return to the set, he joked to Rochelle: "Is that better? Less shine? There we go!" Andi's sudden exit from the set comes just hours after ITV confirmed Holly Willoughby's solo return to the programme.
Corrie's Sue Cleaver says I'm A Celebrity stint helped her to push boundariesHolly has been absent from the lunchtime programme for longer than normal as she jetted off to Portugal to enjoy her summer following the drama surrounding her former co-star, Phillip Schofield. The pair had fronted the show together until his departure and fallout with Willoughby, who was also his best friend.
He quit the show on Saturday 20th May 2023, announcing his departure in a statement. It noted that he would step down with immediate effect, leaving Holly to front the show alone. News later emerged that he had an affair with a much younger coworker whom he met at This Morning, which Schofield described as "unwise but not illegal". He also faced claims suggesting he created a 'toxic' atmosphere.
Initially after Phillip's shock exit, other This Morning presenters including Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary stepped in to present. Once Holly returned, she presented alongside other broadcasters including Alison, Rochelle Humes and Josie Gibson. However, ITV bosses have made the decision to keep Holly as the main presenter with others joining her on a rotation basis.
