Jonnie Irwin enjoys 'incredible' weekend with family after terminal diagnosis
Jonnie Irwin had an "incredible" weekend away with his family amid his terminal cancer diagnosis.
The A Place in the Sun star, 49, celebrated the Bank Holiday by heading to a safari park with his three children and wife. It comes after the presenter was given six months to live back in 2020 when he was told he had lung cancer, which has since sadly spread to his brain. He has been spending time with his loved ones and had a fun-filled day out with wife Jessica and kids Rex, four, and two-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac.
The family beamed as they watched lions, zebras and giraffes at Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Jonnie shared snaps of the family day-out to his followers, where he said: "Just back from an incredible couple of days at @yorkshirewildlifepark. Really well thought out for families with the animals, ranger talks, live shows and on-site accom.

Lots of space. Top marks to all the staff and @wildlife_fdn who create a great experience for everyone,” he added. “We’ll be back!” The Escape To The Country host's pictures showed the young family pose next to a monkey as well as the safari's mascot. Jonnie even got inside a dinosaur egg with his boys for a snap.
His break comes after the family holidayed in Beadnell, Northumberland with his sister Amanda. Jonnie told his fans he had "Just grabbed a few days up the coast". He added in the caption: "Rain or shine Beadnell always impresses." In one snap, the star sported an anorak and cap alongside his sister, Amanda, as the siblings smiled for the selfie. In another, Jonnie, wore shades while eating an ice cream with his son. In a third, his wife Jessica kneeled on a paddle board with Rex, surrounded by a sea of yachts in the picturesque setting.

The property expert wasn't prepared for the unlikely venue for the check-up as patients are usually asked to attend specialisthospitalsfor scanning. The TV star is spending quality time with his children after his terminal diagnosis (INSTAGRAM)While earlier this month Jonnie, who has yet to tell his three young sons that he is battling cancer, shared an emotional post as he marked his 'last ever' trip to nursery with his eldest son Rex, 4. Jonnie beamed in the wholesome family snap as he kept warm in a dark green coat and neck-scarf while cycling a yellow bike - despite admitting recently that he feels himself getting 'a lot weaker' amid his cancer battle.
"Last EVER ride to nursery with Rex. Suitably waved off by Rafa and his spade and Rex with his game face on," Jonnie penned alongside the sweet snap. Jonnie then shared another photo of himself and Rex riding their bikes to nursery as he marked the emotional moment as a dad-of-three. Jonnie decided to go public with the tragic news of his terminal diagnosis last year in order to get the 'monkey off my back'. The Escape To The Country star was shooting a TV project in Italy when he first realised something might be wrong with his health.
