Conor McGregor fans delighted as UFC star shows off new physique for comeback

Conor McGregor's fans are ecstatic about the UFC legend's new pictures as he appears to show off a considerably more trim physique ahead of his octagon comeback.

The Irishman hasn't fought since the summer of 2021 when he suffered a broken leg against Dustin Poirier in their trilogy fight. In the meantime he never stopped training, focusing on his upper body while he was on one leg before quickly returning to full sparring within a year.

He has been pushing for a December 16 comeback against Michael Chandler after the pair coached opposite one another on The Ultimate Fighter this year, but has been stifled consistently. However, he recently shared an alleged Fight Pass leak that indicates the bout will be headlining UFC 296, and has been in camp with teammate Kiefer Crosbie in Cannes for his promotional debut.

McGregor hasn't stopped enjoying the high life in France, regularly posting pictures from his luxury yacht with fiancee Dee Devlin and their family. But he has also shared images and videos training with Crosbie, as well as Bellator star Ciaran Clarke, TUF coach Cian Cowley and other teammates.

And a new series of photos posted yesterday show he and Devlin out and about, with many fans noticing how much lighter he looks than previous pictures. He was believed to have hit as high as 195lb and admitted during an unaired piece of TUF footage with fellow fighter Stephen Thompson that he hadn't looked at the scales for a while, but looked a different man in the new post.

He captioned it "Love you always baby," and fans expressed their excitement in the comments with one writing "Starting to slim down already I see. The fight is definitely coming." Another added that "The prime face is coming back," while many noted that his face "looks normal".

He can be seen sporting a mark under his left eye in the photos, which were followed by a post in which he is seen holding a dog while shirtless. McGregor was never in particularly bad shape at his heaviest, but appeared to have put on a massive amount of muscle that would have hindered him in the cage.

On the second post, one fan commented: "Boy looks small again. He’s always been best suited for featherweight." Another joked that "Bro really bulled up to 200lb just to fight at lightweight again," while his former teammate Tom Egan joked that he was "looking a little light."
