Sandra Bullock is 'grateful' for ''incredible support' after boyfriend's death

Sandra Bullock is "so grateful" to her fans for their support following the death of her boyfriend, Bryan Randall.

Bryan died aged 57 earlier this month after being diagnosed with ALS. Since his death, fans of the actress have been raising money for the ALS Association.

The non-profit organisation funds research into the fatal disease and provides care services for those affected by ASL. They've reported an additional $50,000 (£39,000) and more than 100,000 new visitors to their website since Bryan's death.

A source has said that Sandra, 59, has been blown away by the support. They said: "She is so grateful to all those who have donated and is happy that out of something so heartbreaking came something so positive for others."

After Bryan's death, his family shared an emotional statement to announce he had "passed away peacefully after a three-year battle with ALS". They added: "We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours."

The source has said it was important for Sandra and his family to honour those who had helped them during Bryan's final few years. "It was very important to her that when she and his family made the initial statement of Bryan's passing, those who were on this journey with her and Bryan, from the beginning, were recognised," they said.

Speaking to People, they explained how staff at the Healey Centre at Mass General "led the way" in Bryan's care. There is currently no cure for ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis).

Those who are diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, are expected to live between two and five years after symptoms are first noticed. Up to 10 percent of people however live for at least 10 more years.

The rare neurological disease affects motor neurons—those nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement. Sandra and Bryan met back in 2015 when he was working as a photographer for her child's birthday party and had been in a long-term relationship ever since. The A-lister said Bryan was a "saint" and the "love of her life" just two years ago amid his secret health battle.
