Robbie Williams says he is 'not good' as he battles to cope with stress levels

Robbie Williams says he struggles to deal with stress and that he feels his brain works against him when he tries to calm himself.

The 49-year-old former Take That star has been noticeably introspective on social media in recent weeks, frequently sharing thoughts and opinions on a very personal level. And as the weekend was beginning, he took to Instagram to share his thoughts on dealing with stress.

In a highly personal post, the Angels singer confessed he often struggles to deal with the feeling of emotional tension. He appeared to share his thoughts to help start a dialogue with his fans about the condition.

The chart topping star shared a selfie of himself looking sternly at the camera. And in a reasonably long post, he wrote; “My brain runs away with itself. It’s confusing and tiring. I seem to be lacking the ability to deal with any kind of stress whatsoever. This, of course, is not good.

“And don’t worry. I’m not doing a cry for help. This is just everyday normal s**t. Just some Friday s**t.Or Saturday or Sunday. My mind has its own narrative. I try to cajole it, Try to tell it to behave, tell it nice things.

“But it seems to want what it wants. It must enjoy the chaos of its own misinformation somehow. And it is misinformation. I know that. At least intellectually I do.”

Robbie went on to explain how he feels he could win awards for the mental gymnastics he performs to try to ease his stress levels.

He said: “It’s busy up there. Very.If intrusive thoughts were cardio. I’d be the fittest in the gym. I would represent Great Britain at the intrusive thought Olympics. And I would definitely medal because of an unfair advantage due to my genetics. I actually just became proud of my intrusive thoughts. Dunking on you like Charles Barkley.”

Robbie’s update comes after reports emerged to suggest the star is slotting back into London life after moving to the UK capital after abandoning Los Angeles. A source told The Sun: “Robbie has made no secret of the fact he’s a bit of a nomad and doesn’t like the pace of life in London or Los Angeles.

“But now it seems he has settled on London and they are spending more time here as a family. They have moved into his £17.5million house and will be using it as their base for the time being.”

Robbie is married to American actress Ayda Field and together they share four children: Teddy, ten, Charlie, eight, Coco, four, and Beau, three. The singer - who has been married to Ayda since 2010 - hinted during an appearance on Loose Women last year that he and his wife have differing opinions on how to raise their brood.

He explained ahead of their UK move: “My wife insists our oldest, and all of our children, should experience some kind of high school. I don’t believe in that. But she does. So by the time Teddy is 13 we have to be somewhere. We have three years.

“It is difficult to know what to do, my job doesn’t exist anywhere – it is everywhere. I love my job, I love providing but I don’t want my daughter to be 22 and never have met me. So that is another part of the equation I am trying to work out."
