Manchester United have been handed a huge boost in their pursuit of Sofyan Amrabat with Fiorentina admitting they will ‘consider bids’ for him.

The Red Devils, alongside Premier League rivals Liverpool, have been linked with a swoop for the Moroccan midfielder before the end of the transfer window. The Reds are still looking for midfield recruits, whilst Erik ten Hag also wants to add to his midfield options before the end of the summer.

Amrabat’s future appears set to be away from Fiorentina. He was excluded from the Italian side’s squad for their Europa Conference League play-off against Rapid Vienna.

The 27-year-old is also training away from the Italian club’s first team amid growing rumours surrounding his future. Now, Fiorentina’s chief executive Giuseppe Barone has offered an update by revealing that they have not received any bids for the midfielder but has not ruled out potentially selling him in the near future.

"Sofyan's not working with the squad — but we have still not received any bid for Amrabat this summer," Barone told Sky. "If there are players who are unhappy here, we can start considering bids for them of course."

Barone’s latest comments are just the latest in a series of updates. Speaking last week, he admitted that he would be open to moving on a player who did not want to remain with the club.

"We are always ready for other entries and exits," he said to Labaro Viola. "If there's someone who isn't happy, we can satisfy him between now and the end of the transfer window."

Should Man United make an attempt to sign Amrabat before the end of the transfer window, he could potentially become the Red Devils’ fourth big-money signing of the summer. Mason Mount, Rasmus Hojlund and Andre Onana have all arrived at the club.

Whilst United want to seal a deal for Amrabat, they also need to sell a few outgoings before they can sign him. Brazilian midfielder Fred has already departed for Turkish side Fenerbahce.

His former teammate Scott McTominay could potentially follow him out of the exit door. West Ham have been linked with a swoop for the Man United academy graduate and have already seen a bid rejected for his services earlier this summer.

Away from Amrabat, the Red Devils are thought to have a number of midfield alternatives. Everton ’s Amadou Onana has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford, whilst Bayern Munich star Ryan Gravenberch is also reportedly on their shortlist.
