Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have hit a wall in their relationship and careers, claims a royal expert.

After a series of setbacks, royal expert and author of Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors, Tom Bower explains where the couple have "gone wrong".

Bower claims the stress of Harry and Meghan's new celebrity lifestyle could potentially "affect their relationship and cause stress."

It comes after a tumultuous few months for the couple as they lost their big money deal with Spotify and are now scrambling to make their career work amid mounting costs for their celebrity lifestyle in Montecito, California.

Tom told Woman magazine: "They had the illusion that they could play the royal card, in the end they had to play the anti-royal card and there's a limit to that. The novelty has worn off. It's hard for people to work with them."

Adding more about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's career, he didn't hold back, saying: "I don't think Harry can sustain anything. I think Meghan's far too calculated and hard-headed to do anything that would damage her status and what she’s set up."

Tom also believes that Meghan is "lost" in terms of what she wants to do in her career, telling the publication: "I think she would like to have her own career, but the problem is, a career as what? I think she struggles to understand any more that you need to be authentic. There's a sense of entitlement and she wasn't like that before."

Tom's claims come after it was announced that Harry was set to return to the UK next month for a charity awards ceremony on a poignant date - but will be without Meghan. It was said that Harry will celebrate the achievements and resilience of seriously ill youngsters and their families supported by WellChild at the event being staged in London on September 7 - the eve of the first anniversary of the late Queen's death.

Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's longest-serving monarch, died peacefully at Balmoral in Scotland on September 8 last year, aged 96, after reigning for 70 years. King Charles and Queen Camilla are expected to mark the first anniversary of her death privately at their Balmoral estate.

Harry has been WellChild's patron for 15 years and regularly attends its annual awards ceremony but is not expected to be joined by Meghan, who has been a guest at past events. She first joined Harry at the annual event in 2018 and during a trip to the awards in 2019, the prince revealed Meghan was pregnant when she attended the previous year and got emotional while delivering a speech.

Meghan had been due to attend the awards alongside her husband last year. However, the 2022 WellChild Awards took place on the day the Queen died, and the couple withdrew from the event with Harry flying to Scotland to be with other members of the royal family.
