Emmerdale star Amy Nuttall splits with 'cheating' husband for second time

Emmerdale and Downton Abbey star Amy Nuttall has pulled the plug on her relationship with Broadchurch actor Andrew Buchan once and for all after he failed to follow new rules that were put in place to save their marriage after he cheated on her.

The 41-year-old actress is said to be ‘gutted’ after coming to the realisation that her marriage to 44-year-old Andrew cannot be salvaged. The pair had previously split at Christmas last year amid reports Andrew had cheated on Amy with his 39-year-old Better co-star Leila Farzad.

But they reconciled earlier in the summer - and put in place a string of strict rules for Andrew to follow in order to keep their marriage in tact. But now it seems the rules have turned out not to be enough and the couple - who married in 2012 and share two children together - have split once more.

This time, it seems the break up will be for keeps as Amy - who played Chloe Atkinson on Emmerdale from 2000 until 2005 and Ethel Parks in Downton Abbey - is said to have ‘accepted’ their relationship has come to an end. And it is also said Andrew has now left the family house.

A source told The Sun: “It took a lot for Amy to give the marriage another chance but she thought it was worth one final roll of the dice. There is no suggestion he has cheated again, but as far as she is concerned this is it.

“She is obviously gutted but also accepts that their time together has come to an end.” The update on the relationship comes seven weeks after it was revealed Amy and Andrew were trying to make things work.

A source had claimed at the time that Amy had laid down strict rules for Andrew to follow - including banning him from contacting Leila as part of the rebuilding of their relationship. He was also instructed to check in via FaceTime when working away from home - and the couple were following a ‘777’ approach to rebuilding their romance.

A source had said at the time: “They will adopt the 777 approach which means every seven days you go on a date, every seven weeks you go away for the night and every seven months you go away on holiday just the two of you.” And the source added: “[Amy] doesn’t want to throw away over a decade together but at the same time she is far from a pushover.”

Amy and Andrew started dating back in 2007 before swapping vows to become husband and wife in September 2012. They have two children together - with a daughter who was born in April 2015 and a son born at a later date.

However, the marriage seemed doomed when Amy discovered lingerey that wasn't her size in the run up to Christmas last year. A source said previously: “The penny started to drop over a period of time. He was away a lot, which wasn’t unusual because of the nature of his work.

"But at one point Amy realised he had been staying in hotels near to home — and wondered why... the final straw was the lingerie. Amy just knew instinctively that it wasn’t meant for her.”
