Liverpool have had a mixed start to the new Premier League season with four points from two games, but there remains time to make further additions.

There is just over a week left of the transfer window and while Jurgen Klopp recently landed the signature of ex-Stuttgart midfielder Wataru Endo, many sections of the Anfield faithful feel as if the Reds still need more bodies through the door before the window closes.

Whether they are granted their wish remains to be seen, but it seems apparent that despite Saturday's 3-1 win over Bournemouth, Liverpool are lacking the kind of attributes required to challenge for the biggest honours this term. Two shaky defensive performances have done little to quell some of the fears that plagued the off-season.

With that in mind, here are all the Liverpool transfer rumours on Thursday, August 24.

Caicedo's Lavia message

It is entirely forgiveable if some Reds fans are still reeling from last week, which saw a £105million bid for Moises Caicedo accepted by Brighton. However, with his heart set on Chelsea, Blues owner Todd Boehly finally flinched and bid once more to secure a British record £115 million deal.

As a result, Klopp and the rest of the Liverpool hierarchy turned their attentions to Romeo Lavia once again, having previously had three approaches rebuffed by Southampton. Remarkably, a £60 million bid sufficed only for the player to turn down the move before Chelsea again came in.

It has since emerged that perhaps Lavia also rejecting Liverpool wasn't as coincidental as it first seemed. The 19-year-old Belgian international had his head turned by Caicedo himself, who after signing for Chelsea, promptly went to work on getting Lavia to follow him to West London.

According to a report in the Athletic, Caicedo sent the teenager a message outlining how keen he was to line up alongside him.

Andre bid rejected

Liverpool have had a €30million (£25.6m) bid for Brazilian midfielder Andre rejected by Fluminese, according to ESPN.

The 22-year-old is under contract for another three-and-a-half years and was the subject of interest earlier this year from Fulham, who also had an offer turned down.

The young Selecao is attracting such a level of interest from from clubs across Europe, including multiple Premier League sides.

Klopp is certainly finding it tricky to sign midfielders this summer and Andre has emerged as one of the cheaper alternatives, though he'll need time to adjust to the rigours of English football - time the Reds don't have.

Liverpool submit offer for Atalanta youngster

Liverpool are believed to have made an offer for 15-year-old Atalanta midfielder Samuel Inacio Pia, as per Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web.

The reports claims that an official bid has been made in an attempt to lure tempt the teenager away from Bergamo and into the youth set-up in the red half of Merseyside. Inacio Pia scored seven goals in 11 appearances for the Italian under-15s team before being promoted to the under-16s.

The youngster in question is also the son of Pia, the Brazilian winger who appeared more than 100 times for Serie A titans between 2005 and 2010.

While the young Atalanta ace has undeniable talent, it is hardly the kind of acquisition that will spark excitement among Reds fans.
