With just hours to go until the next episode of Celebrity Masterchef 2023 airs, its star-studded lineup is all anybody can talk about. The 16th season of the BBC One reality series has treated viewers to a cast of beloved personalities, including Jamelia, Max George and Dianne Buswell, ever since it premiered earlier this month.

One of the most recognizable faces to appear in this year's Celebrity Masterchef is Amy Walsh, who is best known for playing Tracy Metcalfe in Emmerdale. Along with her ITV soap star status, the 37-year-old is also famous for being the younger sister of Girls Aloud singer, Kimberley Walsh. With so much talent in her genes, it's no surprise Amy's acting chops have translated sharply to the kitchen.

She is currently one of just four remaining contestants, having made it through the last round after wowing judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace with her delectable dishing. Now veering into the semi final, fans are gunning to find out more about her relationship with her VIP sister.

Amy hasn't spoken publicly about Kimberley all that much in the past, but from what she has said, it appears the two maintain a very close bond. It's understood that the former EastEnders star even moved back to Leeds from London recently with fiancé Toby Alexander Smith to be closer to her big sister.

Amy also hailed Kimberley, 41, after she guest hosted on This Morning, telling OK! magazine she's "really proud" of her elder sibling. "I’ve been working so much I have about 10 episodes to catch up on, but she’s amazing," the former Hollyoaks actress gushed. "It’s so nice to see her on morning telly! She's so good." She also has revealed in the past she consulted with Kimberley on how to best act out Tracy's labour scenes in Emmerdale, revealing the Girls Aloud alum was 'brilliant' with her advice.

Kimberley would later reciprocate this love, telling Amy she was going to "the best mummy in the world" at her baby shower in 2021. "I just wanted to say I cannot wait to meet my little niece or nephew," she said. "You’ve had the most practice with my and [our other sister] Sally and our boys and I could not think of anybody more ready for this job. We love you so much."

Kimberley and Amy also appeared on All Star Family Fortunes together in January 2014, in which they competed against Wayne Sleep and his family in a bid to raise money for charity.

Interestingly, the Girls Aloud icon also auditioned for Emmerdale, but was never offered the role. Their older sister, Sally Walsh, also starred in the Yorkshire soap as Lyn Hutchinson between 1997 and 2000. "It would be funny to go in for a couple of episodes, but that’s definitely Amy’s thing, and I’m happy to leave it to her," Kimberley later said.

Amy recently spoke out about her emotional journey on Celebrity Masterchef, admitting she's been an "emotional wreck" throughout filming.

"Sometimes I'd be happy crying, sometimes I was scared but it was all the hormones and going back to work after having a baby. I was having many sleepless nights. I’m just hoping that it comes across all right in that respect," she said. "I want to…I’m going to get emotional…prove to myself that I can do something good. I think you lose your nerve when you’ve been away for all of that. This opportunity came, I could’ve run a mile. I'm so out of the work game."
