BRIGHT DIAMOND (1.50) looks to have a sparkling chance in the Sky Bet Lowther Stakes.

Her trainer Karl Burke has won this Group 2 prize twice in the last four years and his runner this year should improve for the step up to 6f for the first time.

She’s already shown smart form over the minimum distance. After thrashing a fair field on her debut at Nottingham in June, she was sent straight to Royal Ascot for the Queen Mary Stakes.

She ran a belter to finish third in that prestigious Group 2 contest, just lacking the pace of the pair in front of her in the closing stages.

That form gives her a bit of ground to make up on runner-up Relief Rally but the race was only two weeks after her debut and she’s had a break since.

There’s every chance she will have improved a good amount. Have 1pt each-way at 8-1.

Richard Hannon has won the Goffs UK Harry Beeby Premier Yearling Stakes five times in the last seven years.

He fires four arrows at this season’s race with DAPPERLING (2.25) among the quartet.

His second to Relief Rally in the Super Sprint at Newbury is smart form and he didn’t get a clear run when fourth behind Flora Of Bermuda on testing ground at Goodwood last time.

The step up to 6f on faster going should be ideal. Have 1pt each-way at 12-1. A few bookies are paying out on six places.

MASTER RICHARD (3.00) has a good record over this course and distance.

He won here last summer and went within a nose of following up at this meeting 12 months ago.

It was disappointing he ran so badly when returned to this track in May but there must have been an issue as he wasn’t seen again until a good second at Newmarket two weeks ago.

Frontrunners have a good record over this trip here and he should be able to take advantage of a decent draw. Have 2pts each-way at 20-1. Plenty of firms are paying six places.

ROCK MELODY (5.20) has been kept exclusively to sprint distances since joining Scottish trainer Jim Goldie.

Quite how he managed to twice win over 5f on Musselburgh’s sharp sprint course, I’m not sure, as he clearly wants a return to this 7f distance. He looks ready to strike. Have 2pts at 25-1. A few bookies are paying six places.
