One brand that specialises in skincare for men has recently come out with a solution to dark undereye circles that claims to work instantly. LUMIN's new Instant Dark Circle Corrector is new to the brand and uses yellow pigment to help reduce the appearance of blue and purple toned under eye circles.

Since it's not traditional makeup it also uses a number of skincare hero ingredients to treat the skin. Hyaluronic acid, which is widely considered to be a hydration hero ingredient, is used to hydrate the skin and smooth out fine lines.

Niacinamide is used to boost the skins barrier strength and improve dullness while also reducing the size of enlarged pores. Liquorice Root Extract is used to work on discoloration, age spots and the appearance of undereye circles. It also uses caffeine to reduce the appearance of puffiness from the surface of the skin.

The product claims to wipe away the appearance of a sleepless night and there have been some happy men in the reviews who swear it's been making a difference. One said: "I don't see the difference, but my friends can see the difference every time they see me, maybe I see my self a lot in the mirror and I can't see the difference."

A second said: "I've tried several different products that were supposed to work and none ever did with me. The Lumin Instant Dark Circle Corrector works!"

A third added: "Easy to apply & I love the way it dispenses on top with the button pump. The only thing I’d like to see changed is possibly a window down the side so you can see how much product is remaining to know when to re-order before it’s completely out."

Some men have said that they find the product to be cakey and require a beauty blender to apply it properly, although it does seem adjusting the amount of product used can help with this.

One said: "Not a huge fan of this product… honestly, I used it once and probably won’t use it again. The formula is super cakey and difficult to apply evenly without some sort of a makeup blender (which I don’t have), and the colour ads a very noticeable yellow tinge with my skin tone…. I honestly prefer my cheap concealer to cover up my eye circles."

There are other products on the market that aim to brighten dark under eye circles, our favourite at the Mirror is the Beauty Pie Superluminous™ Under-eye Genius. While it isn't marketed specifically for men it does come in three different shades that cater to individual needs of an undereye treatment based on skin tone.
