Moment 'gunshots' fired at contest where three people 'chopped up with swords'
Terrifying footage has emerged that shows the moment 'gunshots' were fired during a brawl where three people were injured and a man was attacked with a sword.
The horrific drama unfolded at a sports tournament held at the Derby Kabaddi grounds in Alvaston at around 4pm on Sunday afternoon. Armed police rushed to the scene where a witness described a man being shot and then attacked repeatedly with a sword.
Other witnesses said two rival gangs caused the violence which ruined the Kabaddi tournament. Kabaddi is a team contact sport which is popular in the Punjab community.
Broadcast footage of the tournament from the Panjab Broadcasting Channel shows the moment that the live commentary is interrupted by petrified spectators behind wire fences start running from the brawl. A group appear to be marching together with one man swinging around his head what appears to be either a large knife or bat.
Footage posted on Twitter shows the frightened crowds running away from what sounds like gunshots being fired as people scream and stumble over to get to their cars and flee the horror scene. Police scrambled to the area with some people being unable to get to their vehicles due to the volume of police officers at the scene.

"They have all been taken to hospital. There is a large police presence in the area and officers are expected to remain at the scene for some time.
