Conor McGregor aggressively took aim the The Ultimate Fighter lightweight winner Kurt Holobaugh, demanding that he offer a rematch to teammate Lee Hammond after a razor-close fight on the show.

The Irishman was devastated as his close friend of many years dominated Holobaugh almost entirely through their two-round matchup on the show before being caught in a submission with seconds to go. Hammond was undefeated heading into the show and maintains that record due to the show's bouts being officially exhibitions, but was untested at the top level.

But McGregor feels that watching Holobaugh defeat Austin Hubbard in the All-Team-Chandler finale tonight in similar fashion, he is confident that his teammate can win if the pair fight again. There is no guarantee that the 27-year-old Dubliner will get a UFC contract, although both coaches on this season have called for him to be signed off the back of his performance.

"Lee Hammond was cruise sailing to victory over Hobo," McGregor wrote. "It was so easy it was too f***ing easy. We call for the rematch now Dana White. Lee was the real star of the UFC [lightweight] contestants and kicked and punched Kurt around easily. Rematch time! Well done Team SBG, Team McGregor #Winners

"And just like that, yous haven’t a clue. The usual. Well done Lee Hammond, we are ready for the easy rematch. Hey Hobo, who taught you them short elbows? Smacked around like it was an episode of bum fights you were."

But Holobaugh appeared uninterested in such a rematch, instead insisting that he is eyeing a fight with British lightweight Paddy Pimblett later this year. He had called out the Scouse fighter in the cage, before reiterating his message when asked about McGregor's posts after the fact.

"Come on guy, come on Conor man," Holobaugh told Mirror Fighting after his win. "You seemed like you were one of my biggest fans on the show. Literally numerous times he said I was the guy their team picked to win the show and s*** here I am, they were right but you never know what the future holds.

"Lee got me off a two-year layoff, okay? I still came back and beat him, doesn't matter how you do it and not only did I beat him but I finished him. That was only a two-round fight, give me a three-round fight come on, you've got to have a gas tank and Lee don't have that. Give me Paddy, I already beat Lee."
