Coronation Street airs a comeback for one Weatherfield villain on the ITV soap next week, resulting in drama for one newcomer.

Dean Turnbull makes a surprise return to the Cobbles, and it's clear the drug dealer is still up to no good. This time the baddie is terrorising new character Cassie Plummer, amid her family hoping she will get clean.

The drug addict made her debut earlier this year and recently confirmed to Tyrone Dobbs she was his biological mother, despite him believing his mother had died. Cassie's mother Evelyn Plummer had fled the street with her to get her help and hopefully get her off the drugs.

But upcoming scenes see her meeting with her drug dealer once more, and it's revealed she owes him money. Dean threatens her before throwing her to the ground, leaving her injured.

This isn't Dean's first time on the show though and it isn't the first time he has harassed a character, or left them in danger. Just a year ago, the villain was part of a surprise baby twist, when he left a female character stranded at the side of the road as she went into labour.

Abi Franklin knew Dean well and he was her drug dealer. Last year, she had no idea she was pregnant after a fling with Imran Habeeb, and she went into labour after meeting with Dean. Dean feared her pain was a result of his drugs so he kicked her out of his car and left her stranded.

While Abi went on to have a baby boy Dean has not been around since, until now. The character is played by actor Anthony Crank who played the role in 2022 as well.

Spoilers for next week reveal he attacks two characters, as a third threatens to call the police on him. Michael Bailey comes across a commotion as he spots Dean hassling Cassie, who has been pushed to the ground.

As Michael defends her and tries to warn Dean away, Dean punches the character leaving Michael stunned. Ronnie Bailey soon urges the pair to call the police on Dean but Cassie begs them not to. Is this the last we will see of the villain? And what will Abi say if she comes face-to-face with her former dealer again?

airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and X.
