Vogue Williams apologised to fans for causing panic after previously revealing her husband Spencer Matthews had to be taken to the hospital due to a " cold sore medication overdose."

The presenter, 37, said her husband was hospitalised for a few days after taking too many cold sore tablets. However, when she first mentioned his "overdose", some fans were concerned and rumours spread about his health.

Appearing on the My Therapist Ghosted Me podcast this week, she told host Joanne McNally that she sometimes has a tendency to "embellish things." Reassuring concerned fans, the model and media personality said former Made In Chelsea star Spencer was "very much still alive."

Joking about the unfortunate situation, she explained: "Spenny was hospitalised for two days because he is a little b***h and he can't handle it... Well, I will tell you what, he overdosed on cold sore tablets. I am not joking, I am not joking, I'm not. He overdosed on cold sore tablets and his liver function, because he did it for a full week, taking ten of these things and he said 'oh they're fine’."

Later on, she said she wasn't sure if it was really an "overdose" as it could have been the sickness that infected the entire family. Vogue added that she needed to be careful about the things she says in case it spirals out of control. She said: "I have to say, we've got to be careful about what we say Spencer on this pod.

"Because that story - it hasn't gone away and it's gone to something like 43 news outlets now. And I'm like, 'It's fine, it's fine, I was only joking'. But I honestly thought that that was the truth. Basically, we both got a bacterial stomach infection but I took what the doctor thought it was literally and then spread it like wildfire on our podcast."

"I said it was cold sore tablets. And that wasn't the truth, I'm sorry sometimes I embellish things." Later, Spencer took to social media to discuss what happened and reassured fans that he was healthy and alive. Along with a screenshot of a headline of his "overdose", he wrote: "For the avoidance of doubt... I am still alive. Also, I was hospitalised with a virus but overdose on cold sore stuff sounds more interesting I guess?"
