Nine-stone UFC legend insists fight with bodybuilder twice his size will happen

Former UFC champion Demetrious Johnson is willing to fight Bradley Martyn despite their nine-stone weight difference.

Martyn is a popular influencer and bodybuilder who often has fighters as guests on his Raw Talk podcast. Standing at 6'3" and weighing a massive 260lb, Martyn has become synonymous for asking fighters if he thinks they could beat him in a street fight because of his muscular physique, a question that has annoyed many combat sports fans.

Undisputed boxing world champion Devin Haney scoffed at Martyn's claim whilst UFC legend Nate Diaz responded to the question by saying: "Brother, you're a podcaster." Johnson, who held the UFC flyweight title for over five years, has stated that both he and Martyn have agreed to fight each other.

“It’s going to happen, I want it to happen,” he said on The MMA Hour. "It’s just finding the right way to navigate it. I’ve been spending the last 20 years of my f****** life dealing with people who are bigger than me. This is my realm, I do this every day of my life. When’s the last time he wrestled someone who was 300 pounds? 280 or 290? He hasn’t."

Johnson stands at 5'3" and has spent most of his fighting career competing at 125lb, which is less than half of what Martyn weighs. “I’ve dealt with this my whole entire life. So when someone says ‘I’m bigger than you, I can beat you’, it’s like okay, I just dealt with this two days ago. Come on, let’s see what you can do. For me, this is an everyday occurrence in my life," he added.

Bodybuilder Bradley Martyn wants to fight Johnson in the street

Martyn doesn't have any fighting experience but thinks his size would be too much for fighters that are smaller than him, in a street fight. It's unclear what the rules for a fight between Martyn and Johnson are or where it would take place, as the bodybuilder has admitted that he wouldn't stand a chance in a ring or cage.

"I just kept playing with it, but it's funny to me and people's reactions are great," Martyn said on Extra Thiccc. "There's also that uncertainty of 'Who knows?'. I'm not talking about being in the ring and fighting these guys. I just did jiu-jitsu today and I have so much respect for people who do it, because it's not what people think it is.
