Bad Bunny owns the Gekko eatery in Miami

Victoria Beckham was forced to drag her 12-year-old daughter, Harper Seven Beckham, away from a lavish Miami restaurant after a nasty fight broke out — but this isn't the first time that the eatery has been embroiled in nearby drama.

Gekko is based in Miami and is a Japanese steakhouse, owned by rapper Bad Bunny who is rumoured to be dating Kim Kardashian's half-sister Kendall Jenner. The eatery serves sushi, specialty steaks, and cocktails in a dramatic, dimly lit setup. With an "upmarket" menu and famous owner, it's not all glitter and glamour, with there once being "police presence" reported.

Earlier this year on February 11, it was reported that the police descended upon the area in which Bad Bunny's Gekko resides. TMZ reported that the area was "surrounded by dozens of police vehicles", with SWAT units also spotted. The outlet was told that Gekko was not directly involved in the incident, with Bad Bunny not in the vicinity of the drama.

The outlet then later updated readers on the situation, with them reported to have been told by Miami PD that units responded to the address in reference to a "possible burglary in progress". They noted that upon arrival, they were "notified the suspect could be armed and still in the building" which is why there was a massive police presence.

But aside from the police presence earlier this year and the Beckhams making a quick exit from a brawl, the eatery is very swanky and a sought after place to visit. Gekko even has a strict dress code, with their website noting: "No athletic wear, no shorts or jean shorts, no athletic or beverage branded baseball hats, no tank tops or cutoff sleeves, and no flip flops/sandals."

The establishment is also a favourite of Inter-Miami players who have been spotted dining and celebrating at the venue. Lionel Messi and stunning wife Antonela Roccuzzo were spotted there with David and Victoria Beckham after Inter Miami's Leagues Cup win along with fellow soccer stars Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.

Meanwhile, the menu is filled with all kinds of delights. From Lobster Dumplings to Ora King Salmon, Wagyu Skirt Steak to Grilled Whole Lobster, and Spicy Blue Fin Tuna to Chilean Sea Bass — this eatery serves up incredible dishes for eye watering prices. Their most expensive steak comes in at $1,200 (£940), while their cheapest starter is $22 (£17).

Although there's a strict dress code and expensive menu, Gekko gets many rave reviews on sites like Yelp. One person recently wrote: "A million percent worth every penny. This was a very expensive meal but every single dish we had looked beautiful and was absolutely delicious. The service was top of the line and they kept the dishes coming at a very nice pace. The restaurant itself is beautiful."

Meanwhile someone else penned: "This place lives to the hype. Their food was amazing and amazing ambiance. They have a waiting area/lounge that you can wait for your table while sipping on drinks. Their menu has a lot of different options along with drinks. Their lobster dumplings and fried rice was soooooo delicious!!! Side note... Be prepared to spend a hefty penny if you plan on having alcoholic drinks ($61 for two vodka/tonic)."

Someone else also noted: "I spent over $300 (£235) alone for a meal for one," while another explained how they went with one friend and the bill was about "$120 (£94) for everything and well worth it", with them sharing various dishes.

Victoria and her daughter dined at the swanky, and expensive, Gekko eatery last week. The mother-daughter-duo were dining alongside David Beckham, Lionel Messi and his wife Antonela Roccuzzo. But things took a turn when they had to dramatically rush out of the venue when a violent altercation left one man bloodied. The fight broke out on Friday evening after security reacted to a diner they thought was trying to take pictures of Lionel. The victim has denied trying to take photos of the World Cup winner.
