M&S have been forced to defend Vogue Williams after she was bodyshamed by cruel online trolls.

The 37-year-old, who is an ambassador for the retail giant, shared a sweet video on social media of her posing in a range of swimwear while on holiday with husband Spencer Matthews and their children Theodore, four, Gigi, three, and baby Otto, 15 months.

In the clip, she wore a stunning black scalloped swimsuit, which she called one of her “faves”, and told her followers it was so versatile it could be worn as “a bodysuit as well.” The high street brand posted Vogue’s video on their Instagram page, but the mum-of-three was inundated with horrible comments about her slim physique, with many slamming M&S for not targeting “normal women”.

“You are beautiful but too thin,” one wrote, while another added: “Need curvy women on here.” “I wish that you would show a woman (dare I say it ?) who has love handles, tiger stripes et.al ?” one follower commented, as another said they stopped watching because Vogue was too slim.

“I would never put negative comments about a person but I did stop this ad quite quickly and I'm sorry but I felt it wasn't directed at your every day woman modelling a swim suit and no harm Vogue,” they added, while one branded the video: “Shocking advertising #promote body positivity.”

The flurry of toxic remarks forced M&S to remind their followers that they “will not tolerate negative comments”, and urged people to “uplift each other”. They wrote in the comments on the post: “A kind reminder to our followers that we use our platform in a positive way. We’re proud to represent and celebrate people of all shapes and sizes."

“We won’t tolerate any unkind or negative comments and anything unacceptable will be deleted. Let’s all continue to uplift one another. Love M&S,” the statement concluded.

Many of Vogue’s fans were shocked by the cruel comments aimed at the TV and radio star, with one writing: “If you knew anything about her you would know she is massively into fitness and incredibly healthy!”

“Why are women being attacked for being fit and healthy now?! Body positivity is for everyone and NOONE should be criticised whether you’re a size 6 or 16,” another fumed.

“All these comments from the woman on here bashing this woman for her size, you should be ashamed of yourselves. Bodies come in all shapes and sizes, she’s no less of a woman than any of you,” one fan fired.
