In a candid revelation, former Geordie Shore star Holly Hagan has opened up about her "hell on earth" experience with her seven-week-old son, Alpha Jax. The ordeal has led to her and husband Jacob Blyth resorting to sleeping in separate bedrooms.

The 31-year-old reality TV star took to her Instagram story to share a "grunting update" with her fans, revealing that her infant son had been making these sounds since he was around three weeks old.

In an extensive written post on her Instagram stories, Holly shared: "A little backstory - we had experienced intense grunting from Alpha-Jax since he was about 3 weeks old."

She further explained that the grunting wasn't due to constipation or trapped wind as his sounds were distinctly different when suffering from either of those conditions. Despite this, she described Alpha Jax as a "super happy chilled baby" who was sleeping well, but his noises were causing sleepless nights for his parents.

Holly also noted that Alpha Jax seemed uncomfortable, rarely vomited after his feeds, and had a tendency to turn his head only one way, leading to a flattening on one side of his head.

The concerned mother then shared various suggestions from her fans about what could be causing the grunting. She also revealed the measures she and Jacob had taken to alleviate their son's discomfort.

"We first tried Gaviscon but he screamed with every bottle with it in," she wrote. "We then decided to book an osteopath and change his milk to apatamil comfort. I also added carobel thickener.

"After the osteopath he started taking some bottles in 20 minutes rather than the usual 40 minutes.

"However, some bottles he would just cry and be fussy. He would also throw up constantly with this milk every time I put him down and also about 2/3 hours after feeds he would throw up water.

"We did see some improvements on his night time grunting though..."

Their efforts finally paid off when they switched their son's milk to an organic brand, which led to a "big difference" in his grunting.

She explained the only difference she noticed in the milk itself was the previous brands were whole milk while the new brand was skimmed milk.

Holly happily reported that his "neck tension has massively reduced and he'll now turn his head much easier to the left" after visiting the osteopath.

The tot was also checked for tongue-tie, which has been "ruled out". Mum Holly said she now thinks the grunting sound, which she described as "hell on earth" was due a "combination of neck tension along with digesting the whole milk".

She ended the lengthy post with: "Now I just need to learn to fall asleep when he's in the same room as that is still impossible for me even without the grunting but I'm going to start attempting it at some point".
