A Love Islander has revealed what it is like to be a bombshell on the show, and why the stars take months off work to spend weeks in isolation.

Gabby Jeffery entered the Casa Amor villa on day 27 of the latest summer series of the hit ITV2 show, yet had prepared to be an original Islander. The 24-year-old has lifted a lid on what goes on behind the scenes as she admitted it wasn't like she had expected. The stunning creative assistant took three months off from her job just to take part in the show.

She then had to spend four weeks in isolation with nobody else but a chaperone whilst she waited for her time to enter the villa. Despite only being on the show for four days, Gabby confessed it was all worth it. She exclusively told The Mirror: "My holding period was like way longer than my time in the villa. So I feel like that in itself just seems like that was a main part of my experience, but it was amazing."

Gabby explained: "I was out there for so long, they did let me go break out of quarantine for a little bit. I had the chance to go home and come back because I'd been out there so long. I did take time out and go to Palma for a bit and then go back into my holding villa. If you've only been there for a week then you will have to stay in your villa and then they'll put you into the actual Love Island villa.

"You're just with a chaperone, so you don't meet any other Islanders or have any outside information. It's literally just you and your chaperone and your Netflix." Gabby was in the holding villa for so long as she was intended to be an early bombshell or original. She added: "But obviously like the plans change. So it was a long process for me, but honestly, I wouldn't change it cause I'm literally best friends with my chaperone. Honestly. We got along so well."

Explaining how people get chosen to be the next bombshell arrival, she said: "It's completely down to the producers and where the storyline goes. Because they just kind of watch the drama as it unfolds and make up as they go along." When asked if she would have preferred to be in the main villa from the start Gabby confessed: "I think everyone would prefer to be an original and obviously I was hoping to be because I was flown out of the time.

"Casa is probably different to the main villa experience because they still have one team of two villas, so I think I was probably shocked by the fact that you don't just sit and chat to everyone all day. There's obviously bits where you'll stop talking and girls and boys will be separate. Which obviously I've heard before, but I think living it is a bit different."
