Robbie Williams has revealed the secret to his youthful looks – and it turns out he takes beauty tips from a very famous female celebrity.

The 49-year-old Rock DJ singer opened up about the skincare routine he follows to keep wrinkles at bay, as he confessed he wasn’t opposed to having plastic surgery in the future should he need it.

But for the moment, the former Take That star can get away with “slapping a load of Vaseline” on his face, which he plans to do until he “looks like I have hollow eyes”. And only then would he consider getting fillers.

Spilling the beans on work his peers have had done, Robbie confessed “most people in my industry have got really good plastic surgery”. But he said because the ‘tweakments’ have been done so well, nobody notices.

Sharing his own skincare regime, the dad-of-four told The Sun: “My skincare? I just use Vaseline, and it works. Apparently that’s what Marilyn Monroe used too. If it was a toss up between a needle in my eye or slapping a load of Vaseline on, I know I’d be choosing the latter.”

Experts have said movie star Marilyn, who tragically died in 1962 at the age of 36, was way ahead of her time when it came to her skincare routine. The Some Like It Hot actress reportedly swore by Vaseline and would wear it under her make-up as a primer to make sure she always looked radiant and camera-ready.

The Hollywood bombshell was also a fan of Nivea cream, which she wore as a moisturiser or again under make-up – especially around her eyes - and made sure she kept her fair skin out of the sun as she reportedly like to feel “blonde all over”.

Other products the legendary actress is said to have included in her beauty regime include Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream. And way before dry shampoo was a thing, Marilyn is said to have minimised washing her platinum blonde hair by dabbing Johnson’s Baby Powder on her roots.

She famously said ‘Chanel No. 5’ perfume when asked what she wore in bed. But as well as splashing five drops on her skin to create her signature scent, Marilyn is rumoured to have added drops to her bath water too as she loved it so much.

And she knew the benefits of a good night’s sleep long before anyone in the beauty industry was talking about it. Marilyn would plunge her face into a bowl of hot water each night and grab between five and 10 hours of sleep in an extra-wide single bed huddled beneath a heavy down comforter, but take two hours to rise on Sundays – her “one day of total leisure”, according to Vogue magazine.
