Meghan Markle's 90210 co-star says Duchess' role was 'a blip on our radar'

Meghan Markle may have started her career as an actress, but it seems she failed to make an impression on her 90210 co-star Shenae Grimes-Beech.

Shenae played Annie Wilson on the hit show and the Duchess of Sussex had a cameo role with the 33-year-old in the first season. The pair were in the same scene together alongside Dustin Milligan, who played Ethan Ward.

Speaking about the scene, Shenae said: "I don't think any of us really remember at all. It was such a blip on our radar." She explained the moment was "one scene at one time" in the middle of a number of episodes.

Shenae admitted that she "can't remember all of the guest stars that came on" the show during an appearance on the Shenanigans with Scheana Shay podcast. However, she did go on to say having Meghan on the show as a guest is "pretty iconic".

In Meghan's 90210 scene, Annie waves at Ethan before realising the Duchess' character, Wendy, is performing oral sex on him. Meghan appeared in the role two years after she quit Deal or No Deal.

After her brief 90210 appearance, Meghan went on to star in legal drama Suits. The popular show, which ran from 2011 until 2019, reached 3.14 billion minutes of streaming time during the week of June 26 to July 2 after it debuted on Netflix.

The Duchess of Sussex was a huge star on Suits in the role of Rachel Zane. In fact, she impressed viewers so much that she's said to have had "loads of fans" waiting to meet her after filming.

Colin Grafton appeared on the show on a number of occasions in series six. He told The Mirror: "I think she had just started dating Harry at the time, but she had a lot of fans already like outside that were waiting for her."

The 31-year-old admitted he didn't actually know who Meghan was at the time. Colin added: "I think that was the point she was dating Harry, but it wasn't public knowledge yet."

Meghan's career could have been very different as she previously confessed she nearly messed up her audition for Suits. Writing on her now-defunct blog The Tig, she admitted she forgot her lines and ended up making a heartbroken call to her agent afterwards.
