Last year's Love Island star Andrew Le Page won over the public when he left the show with his gorgeous girlfriend Tasha Ghouri as a finalist.

The two have gone from strength to strength after experiencing a roller coaster ride in the Spanish villa in the 2022 edition of the ITV2 show. In the time since appearing on screens, the duo have moved in together and even adopted a sweet dog called Luna.

Andrew and Tasha, who became many fans' favourite reality TV couple, recently celebrated their one-year anniversary earlier this month and are looking to buy a house. And now that this summer's edition of the show came to an end and saw Sammy and Jess leave as winners, Andrew offered some sage advice to the stars hoping to work on their relationships after leaving the safe bubble of Love Island and emerging into the real world.

Speaking to the Mirror, the former estate agent admitted he was shocked to find out Sammy and Jess were crowned winners but was still extremely "happy for them." "I really wasn't expecting Sammy and just to win but you know, I feel like they all kind of deserve it," he said of the finale. "They've all been in there for so long and it could have been anyone but you know, it was definitely a surprise to me but congrats to them and I'm very happy for them."

He added: "I really wasn't expecting it but it was a twist." He mentioned how his favourite couple in this year's series is Ella and Tyrique as they got together at the very beginning of the season. He related to them as, like him and Tasha, the public chose the duo to be coupled up.

Andrew, along with all of the Love Island couples over the years, knows exactly what it's like having to navigate exploring a relationship in the real world after weeks of being cooped up together under the watchful eye of the public. Offering advice to the new couples emerging from the season, he said the best thing to do is to ignore what others have to say about the relationship.

"I feel like you've got to ignore things... no one else knows your relationship apart from the people that are in it," he said. "So my advice is don't listen to other people. If you're happy in a relationship and you're genuine that this is what you want then who cares what other people think?

"It's all your relationship at the end of the day. People can have opinions and that's absolutely fine. And people had opinions about me and Tasha. I mean, look at us. We're so strong, we've moved in, we've got a puppy, we're looking to buy a house..."

Andrew added: "So people can have their opinions and that's absolutely fine. It's just my advice would be don't listen to them. If you're genuinely happy. That's all that matters."

Earlier this week, fans were at the edge of their seats as they waited to find out which finalists between Ella and Tyrique, Jess and Sammy, Molly and Zach and Whitney and Lochan, were crowned winners.

Whitney and Lochan placed second, leaving fans stunned as they had been the favourites to win. Ella and Tyrique placed third whilst Molly and Zach placed fourth.
