A spooky derelict house, complete with a chapel and its own graveyard, has gone on the market for £55,000.

The bundle of buildings can be found within a quiet collection of cottages near the rural hamlet of Penrherber, Wales.

Boasting panoramic views, the property once finished could be turned into a number of homes to go on the market.

However before property developers begin thinking about moving it on, a peek inside the home reveals the amount of work required to bring it up to spec, reports Wales Online.

Potential buyers are told at the outset they enter the property at their own risk as foliage has invaded the house where plaster has crumbled and floors have fallen through.

The chapel hall next to it called the vestry is at least more watertight and can offer additional space and a characterful wooden ceiling to add a layer of history to the building. Inside the vestry there's one large space with a sink in the corner. The building has the potential to be an amazing single-storey dwelling or a workshop for a business.

From the outside the chapel initially looks like it is the building in the best condition, although that is definitely not the case.

Further inspection reveals dry rot with floors having collapsed in parts and walls badly affected by fungal growth leading to the chapel being condemned, so demanding a skilled and full renovation.

The chapel currently comes with the pulpit, pews and upper balcony and the substantial arched windows ensure the space is flooded with light and soaked in sunshine.

The estate agent selling this bumper bundle of buildings states the site has the availability of mains water supply, mains electricity and broadband, and private drainage.

As with the majority of sales of now redundant chapels and churches there are covenants attached to the sale usually, but not exclusively, regarding access to the graves in the grounds for families of those laid to rest at the site.

For further information about the covenants attached to Pontgarreg Chapel, contact the estate agent.

The agent can also enlighten any potential buyers regarding details of the leasehold which is 999 years that began in 1918, so there's still well over 800 years remaining, plus further information on the annual service charge and the ground rent.
