Love Island dropped a clue at who had won the ITV2 show just minutes into the final.

Jess Harding and Sammy Root were crowned champions tonight in a surprising twist, with fans left divided over their win. Many had suspected Whitney and Lochan would win, given that they had won a compatibility vote a few weeks back.

However, eagle eyed fans noticed something about the final episode which 'confirmed' who had won minutes before they confirmed Sammy and Jess had taken home the top prize and won the £50,000.

Fans noticed that Whitney and Lochan were stood on the right of Maya whilst Jess and Sammy were stood on the left of Maya. Multiple winners from the previous series have been stood on the host's left side, including this series' winter winners Kai and Sanam.

We just took the time to get it back on track and work things out," Molly shared, whilst Zach uttered the words 'I love you' before adding: "It’s really exciting what I think is going to come from this. I’m really looking forward to doing this journey with you."

On their date, Tyrique and Ella spoke of their bond - and long journey together on the show.

"I wouldn’t change anything that has happened - I feel like everything that has happened has made us stronger," the model said, before Tyrique added in response: "You’ve definitely opened my eyes to a whole new way of living. I’ve never been a one woman guy. Just being with you and focusing on you, I feel way happier and fulfilled."

"I felt like a real life Princess. I feel on cloud nine," she said, "We’ve been through such a rocky road, but do you know what I wouldn’t change it. If it was smooth sailing, it would be boring. We’ve got to look at the positive side, we’ve had all of our tests in here."

Sammy then chimed in to add: "It’s actually just perfect, I feel very very privileged to be sitting on a table opposite you. It’s the cherry on the top. I feel like we both very much deserve it."

On Whitney and Lochan's date, the pair spoke about their

"I feel like you came in at a good time for me. You came in at a point where I was like ‘do you know what, there’s nothing here for me.’ You surprised me. That’s why it’s even better because I didn’t see it coming. You’re literally everything I would look for in a guy. I didn’t think it would look like you, but it does. I do like how you literally just let me be me and you don’t dim my light. You just want me to embrace me, and I really like that," she explained of their bond.

Lochan added: "I feel like I’ve had the smoothest journey here and I was going to say thank you, that is down to you. I’m excited, I’m happy, you are someone that I do genuinely see a future with. I do see you being my girlfriend. It is scary for me because I haven’t felt like this. I can actually say that I do see myself falling for you."
