Real Housewives of New Jersey family reunion turns into massive off-screen row
We're used to seeing blazing rows on The Real Housewives of New Jersey - but now a heated one is starting off-screen.
Original cast member Teresa Giudice has experienced a lot of drama over the years, but now she is having to watch a dispute between her daughter, brother and ex-husband.
Teresa's Giudice's brother, Joe Gorga, had an incredibly sweet reunion with her ex, Joe Giudice, while on holiday in the Bahamas over the weekend.
Despite bad blood between the pair in the past, Gorga gave a big hug to his former brother-in-law in a touching moment.
Giudice now lives in the Bahamas , having been deported from the US in October 2019 to his native Italy after 41 months in prison for exaggerating income, hiding increased assets and failing to file tax returns.
Real Housewives star NeNe Leakes savagely calls show's current cast 'starless'Gorga and Giudice both happened to be in the same place at the same time - with the former posting a video of the sweet moment on Instagram.
He captioned the clip: " Both walked into the same bar at the same time. A lot of history there. We have memories since we were kids.
"I’m happy he’s doing well and looks good. We were both happy to see each other and catch up. Glad someone caught it. #life #rhonj"
Despite previous beefs, they did genuinely seem pleased to see one another, but that wasn't the case for everyone.
One person who didn't find it particularly heartwarming was Gia Giudice, the 22-year-old daughter of Teresa and Joe.
Calling out her uncle for posting the reunion video with her dad, she claimed Gorga was an "opportunist" who was using Joe for attention.
"This is honestly comical knowing you were with him for not even 5 minutes and [were] able to have somebody take a video of the interaction meanwhile all you have done is talked so poorly about my father," she wrote in the comments section.
"You are such a [sic] opportunist to take advantage of the once in a lifetime opportunity to see my father and use it for a post."
Hitting back, Gorga replied: "We both said horrible things about each other. It was a nice moment. We have a lot of history."
He then somewhat controversially added: "Get the hate out of your heart."
Reality TV star 'beyond devastated' after stepson dies aged just 22Others started to question the friendly encounter, with Real Housewives fans pointing out that Gorga had been slamming Joe in public for years.
One person wrote: "I’m confused … didn’t Joe Gorga cry on national television that he hated Joe Guidice and blamed him for the death of his mother? Am I the only one who doesn’t get what’s happening here?"
While another posted: "U just called him a bad seed in last episode… so confused."
In response, Gorga claimed that was the point and wrote: "We've said terrible things about each other ... but when we saw each other it didn't matter."
It's also been claimed that maybe it was setting up a storyline for the next season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
Gorga was famously never a fan of his brother-in-law, telling Teresa so during an episode in 2020
"Joe is always going to be arrogant," he revealed in a confessional before speaking to his sister.
"He’s rough. He’s tough. He doesn’t know how to open up and be a a man. You what a man is? When he can look at you and say, I love you. You’re amazing. You’re beautiful. That’s a f****ng man."
Telling Teresa to move on with her life, Gorga added: "I never really thought you guys had a good relationship. I just didn’t see him treat you the way you should’ve been treated."
Teresa and Joe separated in December 2019 after 20 years of marriage - with their divorce finalised in September 2020.
It's also not the first time that Gia has clashed with her uncle, as the college student branded him "disrespectful" in season 12 of the show over comments he made about her dad.
In October last year, Gia told Page Six where she stood with Gorga, telling Page Six: "We don’t really talk as much now, but it’s OK. I’m sure we’ll move forward somehow."
