There's not much longer before two contestants are crowned winners of this summer's season of Love Island after weeks of grafting and entertainment.

Last night, three of the remaining five couples were sent on their final dates ahead of the show ending next Monday. Ella B and Mitch were given a performance by world-class musician HAUSER while Ella and Tyrique enjoyed a performance from a dance act.

Zach and Molly's date was a little bit different as they were thrown a pink Barbie-themed pool party. Whitney and Lochan and Jess and Sammy still need to head on their final dates before one couple comes out victorious with the £50,000 prize next week.

It's been a rollercoaster ride for the contestants as Sammy and Abi, who didn't seem too compatible, left the villa. His previous partner, Catherine, was eliminated from the villa alongside her new man, Elom. As the series nears the end, we look at how many people are still together and how many have broken up...

Catherine and Elom

Catherine and Elom recoupled when they met during the Casa Amor episodes, leaving Scott single and hurt. They enjoyed their time together but the real world seems to have taken its toll on them. Earlier this week, The Sun claimed they couldn't make it work on the outside.

"The pair struggled to make it work in the real world and barely saw each other since the show ended. They kept up a bit of a pretence, while they did the podcast circuit, but everyone knew it was over before it even really started," the source claimed. "Catherine's sister made no secret about her feelings towards Elom so it's no surprise she cooled things off straight away."

Catherine and Elom's breakup comes after 'entrepreneur' Elom admitted that he wasn't necessarily looking for a relationship with the Dublin-born beauty after they were axed from the show. Asked if he wanted a relationship during a recent podcast, the Love Island star replied: "Do you know what it is, like..." before the pair erupted into laughter and Catherine asked, "Is that a no?"

"Currently, I want to focus on myself. Coming out of the villa is like a thing where there's obviously a lot of light on both of us innit and we both need to focus on ourselves," Elom continued.

Leah and Montel

Leah and Montel were voted one of the least compatible couples earlier this month before they were booted off the show. However, the two were confident they could make things work on the outside.

"We have full intentions of making things work and we will try to see each other as much as we can," he previously said. "Being outside is obviously different to being in the Villa but we have been pretty plain sailing. Our communication level is high and we’ll be able to get through anything that comes in front of us."

Leah added: "As soon as I met Montel, I felt a connection right away which took me by surprise but he was so easy to get to know right from the offset. I feel really lucky that he came into the Villa because it’s been really natural and genuine the entire time."

Earlier this week, Leah confirmed the two decided to no longer pursue a romantic connection. "Our time in the villa was absolutely incredible, but we've actually decided to just be friends,” she said. “We get on really well and I do really like him, but I feel like for me it's never enough. I'm obviously looking for someone long-term [who] shares the same values and morals as me.

“I know I'm someone who has very high standards, but I feel like there are just certain things in people that I'm not able to overlook,” she continued, possibly alluding to Montel’s kiss with Tink Reading during Casa Amor.

Zach and Molly

Zach and Molly are still in the villa but it wasn't all smooth sailing for them. They initially coupled up at the beginning of the series but briefly split when Kady stole him away from her - forcing her out of the villa.

After her return, they talked things out and decided to keep pursuing their connection. Their final date saw the two enjoy a relaxing Barbie-themed date in the pool. Zach even managed to drop the L-bomb. "'I love you. I've been fighting with myself to say it," he said. 'I've been fighting to say it these past few days, but I have officially pulled it off saying it here.'

However, many fans aren't convinced their connection is real and took to social media to claim they were faking it for the show. One wrote: "Molly and Zach are so fake... I said it," while another said: "I really don't cake for Molly and Zach's date because it's fake." "That really sounded like he was made to say that to get it out the way, Zach and Molly are very fake," another quipped.

Ella and Tyrique

Ella and Tyrque had a tumultuous relationship throughout their time in the villa no thanks to Casa Amor. The two decided to 'close things off' before Ella ended up getting to know Ouzy in a separate villa.

Things were sticky between them until they decided to give it another shot. On Thursday night's show, Tyrique asked Ella to be his girlfriend. They were treated to a gorgeous professional dance and a stunning courtyard for their final date ahead of the finale.

She told him: "I wouldn’t change anything that has happened - I feel like everything that has happened has made us stronger." Tyrique answered: "You’ve definitely opened my eyes to a whole new way of living. I’ve never been a one-woman guy. Just being with you and focusing on you, I feel way happier and fulfilled."

He went on to ask her to be his girlfriend and they toasted their new relationship. Some fans, just like when it came to Zach and Molly, think the situation might be fake for the sake of the show.

Ella B and Mitch

Love Island's 2023 Ella B and 'Messy' Mitch Taylor confirmed they'd broken up in August, just one month after the finale of their series aired. Taking to her Instagram Story, the former model broke the news that their romance had trickled out before the summer had even closed.

"I'm gutted that our journey has come to an end," Ella admitted, after insisting she "really wanted things to work out" between her and Mitch. She also suggested the split was amicable, writing, "Unfortunately myself and Mitch have decided to end our relationship." The 23-year-old signed off the update by wishing for her ex beau to "find happiness" as they part ways and embark on a "new chapter" separately.

Just ten minutes later, Mitch took to his own Instagram Story to reiterate Ella's words. "As you have most likely seen Ella's post sadly our relationship has come to an end," the 26-year-old wrote. "We had no intentions of ending, but our busy lifes [sic] and living the other side of the country made it extremely hard for it to work." Mitch concluded his message by reciprocating his ex's well wishes, hailing her as a 'lovely girl' who 'deserves the world'.

Ella and Mitch had a somewhat tumultous romance on Love Island, with the football star's questionable comments provoking unnecessary friction in the villa.

"I’m very happy with how we are right now and this is exactly who I want to be spending this date with," he tells her on one particularly date, to which she replies: "To be honest from the moment we had that date, I just knew we had a connection.” Just the night before, however, Mitch was seen telling the boys that he thought Ella B 'is fake'. He also claimed he was only with her to remain in the villa, much to the shock of his roommates.

Zach went straight to Molly to let her know what Mitch had said, who in turn, passed the remarks on to Whitney. It didn't take long for the comments to spread around the villa like wildfire, angering Mitch and leaving fans of the show wondering if ever cared for Ella at all.

Whitney and Lochan

Where the Love Island 2023 couples are now and the pairings who have splitWhitney and Lochan quickly became fan-favourites (ITV)

Whitney and Lochan quickly became a fan-favourite when they got together. Even their parents admitted to liking their partners during the parent episode recently.

Earlier this week, Lochan pulled Whitney for a chat on the terrace where he asked her if she wanted to be exclusive. "We've been basically together from day one, it's been four weeks and I know how much I like you, and I know how serious I am about you," he said.

"I wanted to feel like my parents could see that and my parents were happy and they were. I do know that there is no one else here or outside that I'm trying to get to know. I do see you being my girlfriend on the outside. But for me that next step, what I want to take with you is being exclusive. If you're at that same point as well?" Unsurprisingly, Whitney said yes.

To many fans, Whitney and Lochan are the winners of the show thanks to their incredible connection and endless banter. Even bookmakers believe they have a high chance of being crowned winners.

Jess and Sammy

Jess and Sammy only became exclusive last week after a dramatic time in the villa, but soon learned that Jess' friends 'aren't sure about him at the moment' when her mum came to visit.

Despite their rocky relationship, it seems the pair are going from strength to strength in a teaser clip from their final date.

“It was so magical. I felt like a real-life Princess. I feel on cloud nine," Jess says. "We’ve been through such a rocky road, but do you know what I wouldn’t change it. If it was smooth sailing, it would be boring. We’ve got to look at the positive side, we’ve had all of our tests in here."
