Laura Woods accidentally kissed "beautiful" darts star on lips in awkward gaffe
Laura Woods has revealed she accidentally kissed darts legend Steve Beaton while concluding an interview with him.
The presenter regularly hosted darts coverage for Sky Sports before leaving the broadcaster, with Beaton a regular on the PDC circuit. It was at one event that the unfortunate incident happened after a moment of confusion between the duo.
Woods had been interviewing Beaton, also known as the Bronzed Adonis, when she went to shake his hand. Beaton though was leaning in to hug the presenter and the duo instead kissed on the lips.
The presenter was left embarrassed by the awkward gaffe, with Sky's crew checking in on her when she returned to the broadcaster truck. The 36-year-old still looks back on the moment with a red-face.
"If you don’t know who Steve Beaton is, he’s called the Bronzed Adonis. He is a beautiful man and he spent his whole career being an absolute heart-throb in the world of darts, which doesn’t sound difficult does it?" Woods told the Happy Hour podcast.

"When I finished the interview, I went, ‘Thank you so much’ and I went to shake his hand, he went for a cuddle. Because he’d gone for a cuddle, I like put my arms around him and almost went for a kiss on the cheek.
"He then realised I was for the kiss so he turned and we kissed on the lips. I was like, ‘Oh my God, what have I done?’ He was like the holy grail and I'd poisoned it. Anyway, I realised and I went back into the truck, sat down.

Woods left Sky Sports last summer to take over as ITV's lead presenter on The NFL Show. She also hosted their coverage of World Cup games at Qatar 2022 and in Australia and New Zealand for the Women's World Cup.
The 36-year-old recently left her role presenting the breakfast show on talkSPORT. A month afterwards, she was unveiled as the lead presenter for the Champions League on TNT Sports, following a rebrand of BT Sport.
And after her new role was announced, Woods could not hide her delight, writing on Twitter : "The New Chapter…Oh, hi TNT Sports. And helloooooo Champions League. A very, very proud day for me."
Woods will be seen on screens from the start of the Champions League group stages, which kick off in December. She forms part of an all-female team for TNT's coverage of football in the upcoming campaign.
