Kate fears George, Charlotte and Louis will refuse to observe annual tradition
The Princess of Wales fears her children may want to boycott an annual Shrove Tuesday tradition after a fail in the kitchen.
Kate laughed as she struggled to make pancakes during a visit to a nursing home in Slough today after struggling to whip up the treat - and now worries Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will want to give pancakes a miss later this evening.
Before she started, the princess predicted a culinary mishap, telling Anna Wright, head chef at Oxford House Nursing Home: "I always seem to get my pancakes stuck either in the pan or the ceiling or the floor."

Kate said: "This is where I go wrong, I obviously try and turn them too quickly."

Conscious of the large number of residents, staff and press silently watching, the princess quipped: "I wish there was, like, music going on."
She tried to free the batter mix from a frying pan but had difficulty but eventually managed to successfully toss the pancake.

Kate struggled to cook the pancake correctly (PA)Laughing, she then admitted that pancakes for dinner may not be what George, Charlotte and Louis will want to eat tonight.
She said: "Maybe the children won’t want to do pancakes… 'Mummy we’ve seen you do it – no way’."
And urged staff: "Definitely don't eat that pancake. All of the ones that were made earlier are much nicer."

During her visit, Kate heard about Oxford House's use of technology to stimulate and enrich the daily lives of residents.
She tried out an interactive football table with one resident called Jean and also chatted to 109-year-old Nora, who told Kate her favourite food is kidney with Brussel sprouts.
She also visited the home's award-winning garden and talked to residents next to an interactive wall, which has a screen showing a train journey.
The visit to the nursing home just days after she and Prince William wowed the crowds on the red carpet as they attended the 2023 BAFTAs on Sunday night.

She donned a Grecian-style gown by Alexander McQueen, which she first wore to the BAFTAs in 2019 - and paired it with dramatic black opera-style gloves.
