Emmerdale confirms new character has hidden link to Caleb amid Nate twist

Emmerdale will see the arrival of a new character next week, and they are secretly linked to Caleb Miligan. It seems Cain Dingle's brother is hiding more secrets, following a dramatic year for the character.

But there's a twist in store when Caleb's nephew Nate Robinson makes a discovery, after reconnecting with someone from his past.

It all kicks off when newcomer Corey makes his arrival in the village, and offers car garage owner Cain a job opportunity. Amid Nate's financial woes after his farm job was put at risk, he's surprised to see his dad talking to Corey as he knows him.

Cain’s encouraged as he and Corey agree to a business deal with the garage, before realising the character was school pals with his son Nate. Nate enjoys a pint with his long lost mate Corey, but he's left embarrassed to have his financial issues aired to him.

But Nate has a plan in mind involving his successful friend, and even refuses work with his dad leaving Cain suspicious. Nate soon heads to Corey's office and begs him for a job, but is left disappointed when Corey tells him he can’t help him with any work.

Later on in the week it's clear Caleb is hiding something yet again as he takes an unwanted phone call, remaining secretive with the caller.

Things remain tense between Caleb and Cain, given his involvement in what happened at the farm which has left Cain and wife Moira Dingle facing financial ruin.

Nate, meanwhile, is annoyed to see Mackenzie working at the garage as the pair continue to share roles, and he heads off for one last attempt to convince Corey to help him.

But Corey’s face drops to see Nate enter the Office, asking for work, as Nate comes face-to-face with his uncle Caleb. Wondering what he's doing there, the penny soon drops as Caleb's link to Corey is exposed.

Caleb’s thrown to see Nate there and his cover as a silent investor is blown, as yet another secret of his comes to light. Caleb tries to backtrack as Nate pieces everything together, and he can't cover the truth.

Nate is thwarted though when Caleb tries to buy his silence to stop his venture getting out. Nate goes back though with a plan in mind, and he threatens to tell Cain everything about Caleb’s business unless he gives him a job - will Caleb do as he says?

It follows Caleb being exposed earlier this year as the secret son of Frank Tate. He set out to bring down his ex-wife Kim Tate over his death, trying to steal everything she had. But it meant him throwing his family under the bus in the process, sparking a feud with Cain.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
