John Fury doubles down on criticism of son Tyson's coach with "snakes" jibe
John Fury has slammed SugarHill Steward for comments he made about not training his son Tyson.
The heavyweight champion's trainer raised eyebrows when he admitted to only being in Manchester earlier this year to help Lawrence Okolie prepare for his world title fight, not for Fury's ill-fated undisputed clash against Usyk. John has now advised his son to split with Steward for his upcoming crossover fight against former UFC champion Francis Ngannou.
"If a man turns on you they've got to go, haven't they? Going back to Sugar Hill about him saying that he wasn't training Tyson, that was a lie. He had no need to say that, I'm waiting to see him to his face to tell him it's a lie. It will probably cause problems but I don't care what it causes, he's getting told off me one way or the other," he told courtesy of Freebets Ireland.

"It's in his best interest to avoid me because I won't have them snakes near me. There's a world full of them, be straight. He was living in Tyson's house. Where was he coming from with that bull****? I stand by what I say, he's down the road as far as I'm concerned but it's not my call, if [Tyson] had any sense he would get rid of him.

"A pigeon could train Tyson he's that good, honestly. Give him a drink of water, wash his gumshield out and let him go. All of those expensive trainers are not needed. It's unclear if Fury will work with Steward for his next fight as the heavyweight champion is yet to document any of his preparations for the crossover bout, which takes place on October 28 in Saudi Arabia.
"He made a fool of himself, because he's no great trainer believe me. Tyson will see it all in time, he will smell the coffee and realise what they are in his own time because you can't tell him. For my money, I don't want to see him again. End of, it's not my call," John added.
