Matilda's Bruce Bogtrotter actor is unrecognisable after giving up fame
The actor who played Bruce Bogtrotter in the hit movie Matilda looks a world away from his days in the film, which was released in 1996.
Jimmy Karz was just 12 when he starred in the Roald Dahl flick, in which his character forced his way through a giant chocolate cake, before letting out an enormous belch.
Now 38, Jimmy has quit acting and looks unrecognisable from the curly-haired school boy, who starred in Matilda alongside Mara Wilson, who played the titular role.
In recent photos, he's lopped off his long auburn locks and now sports closely cropped dark hair along with a neatly trimmed beard and moustache as he paves a career for himself in medicine.
There is virtually no resemblance to Bogtrotter, who fans will remember polished off an entire chocolate cake after evil teacher Miss Trunchbull urged him to.

I had to be on set all day, and I had to wear the same outfit every day. The chocolate was already encrusted on this shirt I was wearing.
"For continuity's sake, every day I had to have the chocolate painted on my face the way it was painted on the day before.
"I despised the smell of chocolate for a few weeks after that. I realised then that acting is not easy. There's a lot of skill and professionalism involved."
After starring in medical drama ER alongside George Clooney in 1998 and The Wedding Singer, as the 'Studliest kid' at a Bar Mitzvah, Jimmy quit acting and chose to focus on his education.
In 2017 he graduated as a doctor at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, which involves the treatment of medical disorders through the manipulation and massage of the skeleton and musculature.
Jimmy said he was drawn to osteopathic medicine as it focuses on "helping the whole patient".
The doctor's co-star Mara Wilson, who also starred in Mrs Doubtfire and Miracle on 34th Street, has also given up acting, but is still instantly recognisable as her Matilda character with her dark hair and short fringe.
The child star has largely shunned the limelight since stealing our hearts in a number of nineties classics – but is now developing a career in storytelling.
On her official website, Mara discussed her decision to quit the film industry, saying she has no desire to "pursue" it anymore.
She explained: "The short answer is no, I don’t have any plans to pursue film acting. It’s not my “thing” anymore, if it ever was. Yes, I do still act sometimes.
