Man Utd sent positive message over Ramsus Hojlund deal as transfer condition set
Manchester United have been told that Atalanta may have to “consider" selling star striker Rasmus Hojlund as the Red Devils chase a swoop.
The Danish striker has been identified as United's prime target when it comes to bolstering their attacking options. Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen and Randal Kolo Muani have also all been linked throughout the duration of the transfer window but the trio are deemed too expensive.
United have already spent over £100m this summer to strengthen Erik ten Hag’s options with the signings of Mason Mount and Andre Onana. Hojlund is also not expected to be cheap either.
Whilst Atalanta boss Gian Pieri Gasperini has reaffirmed that his side would only consider selling should they receive a considerable bid, he has hinted that both the club and Hojlund have decisions to make.
When asked about a potential move, he replied: "Hojlund and Man United? Sometimes there are choices to make and also agents…

This latest admission comes after Gasperini appeared to lay down a price tag ahead of a potential deal. Speaking last week, the Italian said: "He [Hojlund] undoubtedly has great talent, but also great room for improvement.
"These things are visible in both senses, he must work to improve because he has the characteristics to become one of the strongest strikers in the world. I don’t know if he’s leaving, the market is unpredictable. I hope for the club they get €80, 90, 100m.
"The market value changes. But among the young emerging players in his role, if not the best, he is among the best in Europe."
Whilst United are chasing a deal for Hojlund, one man who is not convinced over a move is former Red Devils forward Louis Saha. Whilst he has praised his ability, the Frenchman has claimed that he would prefer United to sign a more experienced forward.
Hojlund is fresh off the back of an excellent debut season with Atalanta. The 20-year-old scored ten goals and notched four assists after his arrival from Sturm Graz.
He still has four years left to run on his current contract in Bergamo. Speaking back in January about a move to Old Trafford, he said: “Now that you ask, I will not hide the fact that I am a huge Manchester United fan.
“So personally, it would be one of the biggest things for me, but of course, that doesn’t mean that I would turn down other big clubs if the offers come at some point.”
