Jon Jones gives three-word reply to Tom Aspinall's UFC London call-out

UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones has welcomed a future fight against Tom Aspinall after his knockout win in London.

Aspinall returned almost a year to the date after his horror knee injury to stop Marcin Tybura in just 73 seconds. The Brit laid out his two-fight plan that finishes with a title fight against Jones, as he said in his post-fight interview: "I'm going to Paris and sit front row for Ciryl Gane vs Serghei Spivac, I'm going to beat the winner and then I'm going to beat Jon Jones."

Jones, who is set to defend his belt against Stipe Miocic at UFC 295 in November, responded to Aspinall's call-out in a tweet that read: "Sounds good lol". The consensus greatest MMA fighter of all-time has hinted at retirement after his title fight against Miocic, but Aspinall is hoping Jones will stick around so he can serve as a challenger for his belt.

"Jon Jones knows I exist, that's a win in itself," Aspinall said. "I'm buzzing with that. I've been saying this all week, what I want to do is obviously win my fights going forward but I also want to motivate Jon Jones to stick around and fight me. That is my absolute dream mate, the thought of that!"

'Bones' spent three years bulking up to heavyweight from light-heavyweight and his lengthy preparation paid off, tapping out Gane in two minutes to win the vacant title back in March. Aspinall believes his unique fighting style will cause problems for Jones, adding: "I think I match up well against him. It's a dream fight of mine."

"I'm young, fresh, big, fast, strong . I can do everything well and I'm heavy, which is unlike a lot of his opponents who he's fought in the past. I just think I bring something different to him, I think he knows that as well and he should know that moving forward."

Jones wasn't the only heavyweight star that replied to Aspinall's post-fight interview as former interim titleholder Gane also tweeted: "Great performance Tom, careful what you wish for. See you in Paris." Aspinall is hoping to get in the cage and face-off with the winner of Gane and Spivac's fight, which takes place in September.
