Cristiano Ronaldo is now officially Instagram's highest earner.

The Portuguese star, 38, has taken over from Kylie Jenner, 25, after it was revealed he makes £1.87million per sponsored post - with Jenner making £1.47m, according to HopperHQ.

Ronaldo has promoted a number of companies in recent years, with him most recently posting for sponsors and sports site LiveScore, as well as wellness brand Therabody and cryptocurrency exchangers Binance to his 597million followers.

Jenner makes her millions from posts while also being a face of fashion giants Jean Paul Gaultier, and having her own highly successful brands such as Kylie Cosmetics and Kylie Swim. She has 397million followers.

Ronaldo's long-time rival, Lionel Messi, is third on the list - bringing in £1.38 million per sponsored post. Messi is followed by Selena Gomez in fourth, with Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson ranking fifth.

Ronaldo's social pages have grown exponentially in recent years - as he ranked third on the Instagram Rich List in 2019 - when he played for Juventus. Ronaldo moved on from Juventus in 2021, rejoining Manchester United on a two-year deal before leaving after his infamous interview with Piers Morgan - joining Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia in January.

Ronaldo spent nine years with Real Madrid, winning four Champions League's and two La Liga's, while also winning three Premier League's and a Champions League with Manchester United. With Juventus, Ronaldo won the Serie A in back-to-back years from 2018-2020 - having amassed five Ballon d'Or's throughout his career.

His estimated net worth is around $500million, but that will continue to rise over the next two years after signing a 30-month deal with the club owned by the Public Investment Fund - the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia.

His move to country made him as much as £175million, and he was named as the highest-paid athlete by Forbes earlier this year - reportedly making £109million per year. Forbes add that only three athletes have made more than Ronaldo away from the field in any one year - those Roger Federer, Conor McGregor and Tiger Woods.

Jenner meanwhile is above three of her sisters who also figure in the top 10, with Kim Kardashian in at sixth (£1.31m per post), Khloe Kardashian at ninth (£1.03m) and Kendall Jenner in 10th (£1m). Jenner recently stated that she feels a responsibility toward young people who see her posts, and that all the family feel the same.

In the latest episode of The Kardashians: "We have huge influence and, like, what are we doing with that power? I just see so many young girls on the internet now fully editing (their pictures). I went through that stage, too. I feel like I’m in a better place but other people can instil insecurities in you.”

Ariana Grande (seventh, £1.3m) and Beyonce (eighth, £1.08m) round out the top 10 in highest Instagram earners.

Ronaldo's net worth is estimated to be north of £370m.
