Greg James has launched a new BBC radio challenge where he is tasked with finding his fellow Radio 1 DJs, who have gone into hiding.

The presenter was hosting his own breakfast show when he was given a print out informing him of the news and telling him what he needs to do.

As a letter came out of the printer in his studio, he read out that the other hosts have gone into hiding and he needs to sort out the usual radio schedule.

He said: "There are no DJs that I can see anywhere, what has been brought in is a printer. Why's there a printer in here?"

He then gets a piece of paper from the printer that just says "testing" on it, which he them holds up to the camera.

However, it doesn't stop there as you can hear Greg saying "oh my god" as he grabs another piece of paper. This one says "loving the tunes keep them coming" as he crumples it up and kicks it to the other side of the room.

A third and final message is printed which said: "Greg, every Radio 1 DJ except you is in hiding. You will have no hope of finding them on your own but there are millions of Radio 1 listeners who might just stumble upon them as they go about their days.

"Greg, your job is to put the Radio 1 schedule back together, one DJ at a time."

He then finishes by simply saying: "That's mad." The challenge, which has been dubbed the Giant DJ Hunt, involves 30 presenters which need to be found by Greg.

Until Greg uses the clue to put the schedule back together, he’s on the radio by himself.

Further instructions said: "When a DJ is found you will have to get them to a BBC studio. Right now you’re the only presenter on the station. You have 30 DJs to find, don’t take too long.

"None of the DJ’s are in dangerous places! So you don’t need to go hunting through quarries, quicksand, abandoned buildings or treacherous swamps to find them."

Greg has enlisted the help of his listeners as BBC Radio 1 shared a video of Greg telling fans: "I've gone into work and nobody else is here. Literally no one.

"There are no other DJs, all the DJs have lost their shows and are now in hiding. I've been given the job of trying to find them all. All 30 of them are hiding.

"I need your help," he said.

Greg added: "They could be anywhere. If you think you have spotted a Radio1 DJ go up to them and simply say: 'Are you a Radio 1 DJ?' If they reply with 'Yes I am a Radio 1 DJ' they will tell you what you need to do next, ok?"

So far, five DJs have been recovered including Pete Tong, Nels Hylton and Danny Howard.
