Love Island's Maya Jama nearly falls over live on air after wardrobe blunder

Maya Jama nearly tripped as she opened Love Island: After Sun today.

The host of the ITV2 show was fronting the spin-off show this evening when she was joined by Sam Thompson and Indiyah Polak as well as last series' winners Kai and Sanam and two of this year's latest dumped couples - Catherine and Elom and Leah and Montel.

However, things nearly went south as Maya admitted she had almost slipped up on her way to the stage.

As she made her way through the audience in a stunning red dress, she made her way up the stairs before nearly tripping. Addressing her error, she said: "Welcome to Love Island After Sun! Oh my gosh, I nearly had my first fall over."

She swiftly moved on and began chatting about the last week on the show, adding: "This week the villa had my jaw on the floor."

Maya previously revealed she loves the "strong bond" between her and her co-stars.

Speaking ahead of the show, Maya revealed of her After Sun family, which includes Indiyah and Sam: "As as a little trio have formed a really nice bond and friendship, which is only going to get stronger. We know each other well and everything we did last series went well, so I’m excited to add even more to it. More opinions, more fun, more vibes!"

Maya loves being able to have a "personal connection" to the Islanders when they enter the show.

"I love being able to have a bit more of a personal relationship with the Islanders and being able to see all the behind-the-scenes of what goes into making the show. It’s a nice feeling to be involved in a show that I’ve loved and been a fan of for so long," she said.
