"That is still very much part of my life, it's just fitting it in, really. It takes a long time and it's a really intense period of time.

""So blocking out that two, three month period, it's a juggle."

She added: "So yes, I'm very much up for it when we find the time."

In the programme, Emma completed long shifts between eight and thirteen hours at a time as she supported maternity staff on the busy ward.

In 2018 when Emma presented the first series, she shared her praise and adoration for her own midwife who helped her deliver her first child Isabelle. Emma told You magazine: "I remember looking at my midwife, who was there when I was at my most vulnerable, when my life was about to change for ever, and thinking, “Wow, what a job".

"I truly believe being a midwife is the greatest job for a feminist. It’s women helping women, believing in them at a time when they’re thinking, “Am I ever going to get through this?”’

Outside of her NHS role, Emma is fronting The Voice Kids for ITV as well as Cooking with the Stars alongside co-host on Tom Allen.

The cooking show has given Emma a chance to work alongside husband and Busted band member Matt Willis.

As Matt joined as one of the contestants it gave the audience an insight into their marriage of 15 years as they made cheeky digs at each other. At one point, host Tom chatted to Matt was he was cooking an Italian dish, and asked him who his and Emma’s three kids - Isabelle, 13, Ace, 11, and Trixie, seven - preferred in the kitchen.

“When you are at home cooking with the family, whose food do the kids prefer? Yours or Emma's?,“ he asked.

“Well, they eat more of mine…” Matt replied, prompting Emma to jokingly heckle him from across the studio.

“I am a bit more of a pushover than Emma, I just give them what they want. Emma's the bad cop,” he teased.

Determined to have the last say in their lighthearted squabble, Emma quipped: "I am, it's because I have four children, not three!"
