Emma Willis has confessed she’ll never leave her popstar husband Matt, despite experiencing “so many bad times” with him amid his addiction struggles.

Former Busted star Matt, who turned 40 yesterday, has always been open about his battles with addiction, and the star is set to candidly explore his past addictions with alcohol and drugs in an upcoming documentary with the BBC .

When Emma married the musician in 2008, who at one time was taking six grams of cocaine on his own every day, the presenter said she knew Matt was an addict.

But nothing could have prepared her for how tough life was set to get by his side as he struggled through his addiction hell.

Matt was just three days out of rehab when they walked down the aisle – a stark contrast to the life the couple live now as doting parents to their three children.

Emma has revealed how she’s remained deeply in love with her husband after 15 years together, despite his constant battles and fear of relapse.

“Along with addiction comes a lot of bad times,” Emma, 47, told OK! Magazine. “As hard and as bad as that can be and has been, it also is part of who he is and who he is is who I love. We’ve been together for 18 years.”

In the last 20 years, Matt has been to rehab four times, and most recently relapsed in 2016 on a Busted reunion tour.

His youngest child Trixie was just 10 months and he’d been clean and sober for eight years at the time. Matt spiralled from being offered a single line to taking six grams a day in his recording studio, while hiding the relapse and telling Emma he was writing a new album.

Emma has admitted how she believed he had everything under control and was slow to spot the signs of his relapse.

“You kind of kick yourself a bit on reflection because you're like how the f*** didn't I see that?” says Emma.

“All those key signs that I hadn't seen for so many years were all coming back.”

Emma has confessed she never wanted to leave her husband, despite it all, and is instead determined to help him avoid relapsing again.

“It's very easy to look in on a situation that you're not directly involved in and go, 'f*** that, get out of that,’ Emma told the publication.

“But when you're in it, you have that history together… and if you love someone you're not going anywhere. But it's not easy.

"Sometimes I feel like I’ve got four kids instead of three. There's been a lot of joy, but equally it's been incredibly heavy at times.”
