Lea Michele pays sweet tribute to Cory Monteith on 10th anniversary of his death
Lea Michele has taken to Instagram to mourn the tenth anniversary of the passing of Cory Monteith.
The former Glee star posted a black-and-white photo of her and Cory on Instagram. Cory is smiling at the camera while Lea also has a smile on her lips and her eyes are closed as she snuggles close to her then-boyfriend. The two met while filming Glee and their characters, Finn Hudson and Rachel Berry, were also on-screen lovers.
"Hey you. 10 years. It feels like only yesterday that you were here and yet a million years ago all at the same time," she wrote. "I hold all of our memories in my heart where they will stay safe and never forgotten.
"We miss you every day and will never forget the light you to brought to us all. I miss you big guy. I hope you found Taylor up there and are playing the drums together." She finished her emotional post with a white heart emoji.

Lea Michele addresses 2020 backlash after being called out by Glee co-stars
The Broadway actress was dating Cory from early 2012 until his death. Since then, Lea has publicly paid tribute every anniversary. "There's just something about knowing he's watching everything I'm doing and feeling like I have to do everything now not just for me but for him," she said a few months after his death.
Ten years ago today on 13 July 2013, Cory was found in a Vancouver hotel room dead from a heroin overdose. He suffered from drug addiction as a teenager and entered rehab before he started acting. He rose to fame almost overnight as the All-American quarterback with a golden voice, Finn Hudson on the TV series Glee.

His death was covered in the Price of Glee documentary series earlier this year. The series also delved into the tragic death of Naya Rivera, who played Santana on the show, as she accidentally drowned trying to save her son in July of 2020. She was 33 years old.
Cory was 31 years old at the time of his death. Series five of Glee had an episode titled, "The Quarterback," where his character also died to mourn the untimely death.
