Barbra Streisand is an iconic name for many reasons with decades of experience under her belt entertaining her huge fanbase.

Her success has led to her having not only an incredible lost of achievements to her name, but an impressive amount of luxurious belongings. With an estimated net worth of around $915 million Barbra, 81, did what any self respecting woman would do in order to store all their belongings - she built a shopping mall under her house.

Barbra transformed the basement of her lavish Malibu home into a space that features a gift shop, an antique clothing shop, a doll shop and a even sweet shop that serves up popcorn and frozen yoghurts to her famous friends when she holds movie screening parties.

The stores in her underground Mall have an almost Dickensian theme with retro shop fronts and the contents of the stores comes from her vast collection of personal belongings from over the years. She told Harpers Bazaar in 2010: “Instead of just storing my things in the basement, I can make a street of shops and display them.”

In 2015 Glee creator Ryan Murphy described the mall to Vulture after he visited at the invitation of Barbra. He said: “We had dinner with Barbra and Jim, and Kelly [Preston] and John [Travolta], and Gaga and I. And after dinner, she said, ‘Do you want to see the mall?’ And Gaga and I were out of that chair so fast … We went down to the mall and spent an hour down there. She pulled out her collection of gowns from Funny Girl and Hello, Dolly! And then she said, ‘Do you want frozen yoghurt?’ I could write a whole book about that night."

Barbra is set to discuss her award-winning career in her upcoming memoir My Name is Barbra, which is scheduled to be released later this week, and has been opening up about her life in interviews to promote the book and admitting she wants to "have more fun." She appeared on BBC Breakfast earlier this week, chatting to music correspondent Mark Savage. He referenced aspects of her memoir and asked the guest what she's now planning to do next.

Barbra - who has been married to actor James Brolin since 1998 - responded to the correspondent: "I want to live life. I want to get in my husband's truck and just wander, go around, hopefully with the children somewhere near us." The award-winning performer continued by saying: "When they come over, they love playing with the dogs, y'know we have fun. I haven't had much fun in my life, to tell you the truth." She concluded: "And I want to have more fun."
