'Loneliest dog' in UK is a 'lovely boy' but nobody visit him

A dog with "lots of love to give" has been dubbed the UK's loneliest dog because nobody visits him.

Six-year-old Riot is a "lovely boy" and would make someone "the most loyal companion," but is still in the care of the RSPCA North Staffordshire Branch.

Dawn Hunter, from the Staffordshire branch, said Riot "interacts nicely" with people, Birmingham Live reported.

She continued: "He does need an owner willing to put the work in with him - but he will most certainly reward you with lots of love as he has so much to give. He interacts nicely with people and does listen - he loves going for a walk and a great big chew will keep him occupied for ages.

“He is very strong on the lead but with some training he would be much better. He can be reactive to other dogs so would need to be the only dog in the household and would be best with someone experienced.

“He will make someone the most loyal companion. He is such a lovely boy and we hope the right person out there for him finds him soon.”

Five-year-old crossbreed Rosie is another pooch yet to find her forever home.

Rosie is a "very happy playful girl" who has lots of affection, Dawn said and needs a patient owner to help her settle.

She would need to be the only dog in the home because "the lovely Rosie doesn't realise her strength."

Dawn said: "She will need someone with experience to help her train her to walk nicely on a lead. She is a very happy playful girl, who also likes to chill out throughout the day as well as explore."

Rosie would need training classes, according to her RSPCA page, and could live with children of secondary school age and upwards.

She can be left alone for short periods, but would be best as the only dog or animal in the home.

Her page reads: "She is a very happy playful girl, who also likes to chill out throughout the day as well as explore.

"She is very affectionate and responds well to food and treats – which will help with her training."
